Swan Hotel by Greene King Inns

The Swan has that rural small town feel. It's a working and very popular public house. Very tastefully laid out and decorated giving a sense of space to what is a pretty ancient building. The staff were outstanding, particularly the lady who was on reception to greet us with a relaxed humorous exchange which immediately coloured our stay. We dined in the restaurant which has a good menu and equally well cooked and presented food. The rooms are very well decorated, comfortable and as you would expect from such a venerable olde world building some eccentricities such as, nothing being on the square and the odd creak here and there. The bed was comfortable and though in the centre of town nothing disturbed our sleep. The bottle of Chardonnay we had for dinner not withstanding! Breakfast was a real and filling treat. Parking is on site and convenient.

Nothing at all. Our visit will encourage us to seek out other Green King Inns when we travel.

Friendly staff , nice pub & small room but all that was needed for one night . All good parking on site etc.

Emjoyed the food, location and the lovely weather. Generally our stay was excellent.

Rear block of four rooms ran out of hot water on saturday evening which isn't great if one or two rooms can pinch it all, maybe consider instantanious hot water system. In room 17 tap was loose and shower heating controller damaged.
