The Motor Lodge

We’ve stayed at the Motor Lodge for many years and always enjoyed it. That being said, our recent visit was a disappointment. They used to greet you, show you to your room, give you a glass of wine, offer restaurant tips and even give you cookies when you check out. They don’t do any of that anymore……unfortunately, the place has lost its charm. Prescott is Christmas city and the Motor Lodge barely had any decorations. They used to have fun retro decorations with silver trees, outside lights and fires in the evening. Bare minimum now. The girl that greeted us was nice but told us our room code and pointed to our room, not welcoming at all. Also the Edison restaurant/coffee shop next door is now closed. If you haven’t stayed there in the past, you won’t miss these things and the rooms are clean and beds comfortable. We just missed the charm and personal service of the past that made it special.

Bathroom was incredibly small... but other than that- great stay!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Motor Lodge. It was a very unique place, walking distance to shops, restaurants and Whiskey Row. We would recommend this place to others.

Who knew cabins built in 1910 could be this groovy! We loved our stay here, from the porch out front to the carport. Our room was very comfy and clean, and check-in and out was a breeze. If you like historic motels, this one is great.

The bed was really comfortable! I liked the retro decor!

Shower too small and no place to put my toiletries.

My wife and I had planned a night with champagne by the fire pit. The manager told us that the gas fire was on a 3 hour timer, but she would be happy to come back and restart it after the timer expired. When the fire was out, we called her and she came from her home nearby to start it up again. This is the embodiment of hospitality.

To no fault of the property, the local community has a very active biker population. On one of the nights, there was about 30 minutes of motorcycle noises roaring up and down the main drag in front of the motel. This was around 1:30 in the morning.
