Great hotel - we didn't realise before booking that it's literally a moored boat! It's firmly fixed and anchored so no rocking at all! It's in a great location about a 5 minute walk from the nearest subway, which means it's about 20 minutes including walking to get to the city centre. Great staff, very accommodating, and great service. There's an excellent restaurant on board as well

Art Hotel Bakkara is fun! The staff is friendly and helpful multi-lingual. This time, as always, my room was spacious, well-appointed and clean. Climate control worked quietly and effectively, even with sub-freezing temperatures outside. Decor is imaginative -- a great departure from "generic" hotel style. This is perfect to provide some novelty for your special sweetie. I'm a multi-repeat customer of this excellent esbablishment, and will return soon.

Great choice of hotel in Kiev. The location is wonderfully quiet yet close to metro. Used Uber for travel and they pickup at hotel entrance.

Worst experience ever, We were given a room above the nightclub with a loud party going on till 4am with our whole room shaking and a loud dj taking absolute rubbish as loud as he could non stop throughout the night, when i complained we were offered another room 100 away, this was at 3am in the morning so after no sleep we had to spend 1 hour repacking our things and getting changed and then carrying all our stuff throughout the hotel, I asked due to this massive inconvience for an upgrade which they denied and provided us with nothing but a major hassle for my 7 month pregnant wife and myself, after we moved to a new room, it was quiet for 15 minutes until the next room arrived drunk and loud and they consumed illegal drugs and smoked marijuana in the room and kept on drinking and talking singing and yelling loudly, I rang Ilya on receptionn and complained 7 times during the next 4 hours and nothing was done, security was sent to the room and did nothing the noise continued and then they understood that I had complained, they started banging on my wall, The next night was the same, 3 drunk men on drugs partying in the room no stop from 1am till 6am, we were awake and upset all night, I made 7 calls to ekaterina on reception andsecurity who did nothing said because there were no other 3 person rooms available they couldnt move them, in any other country they would have been kicked out of the hotel long ago, This hotel treats drunks and obnxoius people better than guests

Our stay was ok , everything was average but with one flaw - the thickness of the walls . Both noghts we stayed they had partys in the resteraunt so we were limited to room service NOT-GOOD ! . Although we couldnt hear the party we certainly could hear a male guest in the room next door who had bought 2 ladys back from the basment strip club ... you do expect this in lots of hotels in kiev but the walls were so thin we could hear everything ! . A friend was staying elsewhere in the hotel and had exactly the same problem also.

The comfort of the room was fine, but you can hear every noise neighbors do. And the hotel has some romantic atmosphere, so it was very noisy. Staff was very friendly and handle every small issue I had, but unfortunately there were many. My previous stay was perfect, so maybe bad luck this time.

Great hotel in a good location near the centre of the city and close to Hydropark metro station. Not a lot in Hydropark, but this was a trip in December and can imagine that in the summer months it is a lot more busy.

Staff was extremely courteous and very helpful, desk staff, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, cleaning women, and security staff. I had a great time there, and felt at home.' MS

I stayed in Bakkara for about 11 days . These are my experiences during my stay in this hotel . Pros : The staff are excellent; they are receptionist , food servers ,laundry service persons , and room cleaning ladies ! They are friendly , fast, flexible , and very helpful.The view of the hotel is nice .The hotel and room are very clean .Foods in the hotel are good. Cons : The location of this hotel is not very convenient to explore the around areas unless you have cars . This hotel is on the island and in the middle of the bridge. To go shopping you must take a long walk to metro station or call taxi , this is not convenient for daily shopping or eating outside unless you can drive in Kiev. The stairs from floor to floor are slightly forward on the edges, so you must careful to walk up and down the stairs otherwise you will misstep and fall . The safest way is to use elevator . The walls of each room are too thin.. I can even hear people talk and make noise at night either above or around me and on hallway .I had to use the earplugs to sleep. The room built is a little strange ! The bathroom has nothing to separate the shower corner and the rest except a shower curtain ! No matters how careful I was , after taking the shower ,the bathroom was so wet from shower head all the way to the bathroom door , and I must clean and dry the floor immediately.You must bring tooth brush and tooth paste.Foods & services are pricey !
