Hotel Bakkara

Wow. Staying on the boat and looking out across the Dnieper at the golden domes or Kiev's churches and watching the sunset was amazing. The hotel is clean and modern with good wifi. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent both breakfast and evening meal. The Art Hotel Bakkara is perfectly placed for those who would prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. However a short five minute walk through the woods to the Hidropark metro station and a 5 minute train ride costing 21 pence (UK) brings you right into the city centre. Trains run every 3 minutes. Only slight downside is the metro line is close to the hotel so you can hear the trains. The bathrooms are a little small but very modern. I really cant fault this hotel we loved it. BTW we booked 2 rooms so I have written the same review on another website (just in case you were wondering how come they repeat. Enjoy

Pros: I was welcome by the staff on my way to the hotel to help me with my luggage. They spoke good english. The AC was working, Amazing view. Really close to the metro, and the walk is quite relaxing. Cons: The water smelled weird, like its fresh from the river. I did not get sick or get anything so just purely bad smell which i didnt mind. Bed was two double combine, and you can feel the separation in the middle which is rather uncomfortable if you happen to end up there at night. Also its a cruiser that was turn into a hotel so the walls are thin. You can hear music from anywhere. Did i slept fine? ye. If you are sensitive to noise do not stay at this hotel

This is 2nd time i have stayed at this hotel and again great service. Easy to get to center using the metro.my wife and me are extremely satisfied and will use this hotel again when in Kiev.only downside is the paper thin walls.where you can here your neighbours hard at it til earlyhours of morning

Missing only the breakfast !

It was a very nice stay and I was pleased how the Hotel Staff managed all the situations. The breakfast is very good and everything was pleasant!

Stayed a couple days before flying back to Canada. Very easy walk to the metro beautiful view of the city at night. Park right beside hotel.

that was a business trip but i really enjoy it specially for river view and X-mass garden designing

Fantastic Hotel. I definitely recommend a larger room on the river side - worth the little bit extra! The staff on the reception were absolutely amazing - must give extra credit to Petro and Anna. Good for parking. Also a pleasant 5 minute walk to the metro - ticket is 4UAH (13p). The ONLY negative aspect was breakfast - it is served in the bar area - no windows, techno music playing at 8am! and not really a good choice by European standards. BUT it was superb and would definitely stay here again. So close to Kiev but also away from the noise! Very easy to get a taxi into centre for just £4

The ship being on the water is so tranquil and peaceful The food is excellent The Staff well there are so helpful and kind as they make you feel like you are part of a family
