Hotel Kokoro Mineral Hot Springs

If you love spotting wild animals up close, you must stay here. During our 5 night stay, we spotted a sloth 3 meters from us on the tree (and another time further on the tree), countless interesting insects, and every night we visited our 'secret spot' to observe several red eyed tree frogs right in front of our eyes. Yes, every night they were there! Check out the photos taken at the hotel. Other than the animals, the grounds are just so lush and pretty, kept well but in a natural way. The three natural hot springs were very enjoyable too. Our room was super spacious, more of a rustic feel but we loved it. Last but not least, every hotel staff member was so nice and friendly to us, we felt sad to leave and definitely want to go back one day :)

Amazing staff and setting

Amazing experience! Felt like we had our own private hot springs! We drove past all the super crowded big resorts & were so grateful to be staying at little Kokoro. Great location central to everything, free breakfast which was good & dinner was delicious.. get the fajitas! Thank you !!!!

Older facility but a fun place with a very nice staff. Beautiful location.

Great view. Beautiful garden around the property. The hotel has three hot springs, which is very convenient to soak in after hiking for a day. The restaurant is reasonably priced.

Situated in beautiful natural surroundings, woke up one day by howler monkey cries, saw beautiful birds flew by room, watched a sloth moving down the tree while soaking in relaxing hot springs, relaxing massage while listening to nature sound was heavenly. Service was good, comfortable room. The only regret we have is getting sick after having dinner on site.

We loved this property. Beautiful view of the volcano right from our porch. Loved the individual bungalows. Great included breakfast.

Great value! Exceptional staff! Area is really beautiful. Great breakfast (buffet style), dinner option on spot. The pearl of the hotel is the hot springs (mineral water, pumped daily from 350m deep). Much nicer (and warmer) than the warm river options around. I will definitely stay here again, if returning to Arenal area.

These grounds are ahhh-mazing! Lots of birds, plants, and wildlife with volcano backdrop. Staff very nice and accommodating. Springs and trails sublime.

The staff at Hotel Kokoro were pleasant, and accommodating. When we had a tour departing before breakfast opened they made 3 to go bags for us to take the next morning. If you’re looking for a quiet place that’s on the pick up list for day tours and not in the middle of the tourist area, Kokoro is great.
