Flexistay Ambers Gatwick Aparthotel

Nothing fancy but had everything I needed and was comfortable.

Could hear a lot of noise from other rooms. Was a bit surprised that we had to make/cook our own breakfast. That was not made clear on website. Whilst we didn’t have breakfast there was certainly a lot of choice and kitchen facilities looked very clean and up to date. Good for a night before flight out of Gatwick.

Well it’s not my cup of tea. Once more hoist on my own petard, I settled for this place as it was 2 bus stops from Gatwick Airport (6:00 am international flight) and an alternative booking had fallen through. This place is so sad to me. It has a real backpacker hostel vibe. Exactly what I do not prefer. I like privacy. Populated by a significant posse of apparent transient ne’er-do-wells, it reminded me of a Paddington (Sydney) rabbit warren squat from the 1970’s, with a lick of paint and newish tiles. Tiny rooms, tiny deathtrap staircases, noisy, paper thin walls and no aircon. Some punter decided to fry up a bushel of onions in the pokey “communal kitchen” resulting in a linger-too-long odour pervading the rooms. Its apparent claim-to-fame, the 24/7 cook-your-own unlimited breakfast with sausages, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese etc., did not really appeal to me, it might to young travelers on a budget. The problem with communal facilities is that they are used by the community, sometimes all at once. Once again privacy is a concern. I opted out.

Tiny room but had everything we needed for a short overnight stay before an early morning flight. The self serve breakfast kitchen was perfect for making any thing from a coffee to a full breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage etc.

Very tiny room, dirty carpet and walls.verymuch inneed of a fresh paint job. It was nice to have kitchen facilities but itseemed that no one cleaned the common areas much. Crumbs , etc all over the floor and the glass coffee table in the common area was very dirty. My room was facing a fairly busy road...with traffic noise starting very early in the morning. Good access to bus service, including one that will take you straight to the airport . Not much shopping in the area...better to stay in Crawley if you want to shop.

It was ok the beds were clean bathroom was really tiny you couldn’t even turn round in there. I would not have wanted to stay any longer than 1 night

Friendly staff. Only stayed one night as a layover between flights and thought I’d save money from staying at an airport hotel. What I saved I ended up paying in Uber fees to and from the airport. In the end didn’t save/less convenient than an airport hotel. Would probably be different for a longer stay.

Noisy self catering rubbish not worth the money. Avoid and use someone else.

A welcome reception from the staff member. Excellent kitchen facilities for those working, holiday or just relaxing
