Chateau Royale Inn

Motel is OLD. Beds were comfy, but fixtures were old. Air conditioner was almost impossible to control, but fairly quiet. Bathtub was slippery for older people. Refrigerator was so noisy (couldn't sleep) until it was unplugged: then leaked on floor. Toilet was too low and seat was loose. Bathroom fan was very noisy. Not worth the money.

Staff were excellent and very personable. We had some nice chats about local events.

It was a little difficult to get out onto the road from the driveway in the morning. Between traffic, a steep driveway and trees blocking the view a bit, made getting out a bit of a task.

couldn’t ask for more for the price, it’s very clean and tidy. its about an 11 minute walk to downtown which was great. the front desk workers are always so friendly and informative. we stay here everytime we come to lake geneva and will continue to come :) love this place

The room was clean. The flooring in the sleeping area was new. They did not have carpet which is much cleaner. The bedspread seemed new and the sheets were very clean and soft. The room had a balcony and we got to watch wildlife in the back of the property. We even saw a deer. The sink was outside of the toilet/shower which was good when traveling with others. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The air conditioning unit worked well. The location was close to downtown Lake Geneva. The property was quiet at night.

The rooms are very dated and the bathroom and furniture was in very rough shape. The pillows were mismatched. I had one good one and one flat one. The balcony was dirty and could use a power wash. It would be nice to have a small table on the balcony to go with the 2 chairs. Most of the balcony chairs were nicer than the ones we had but we didn't care to much it was nice to sit outside and enjoy a cocktail and smoking is allowed on the balconies. Renovating hotel rooms is very expensive (trust me, I know) however some paint and furniture replacement would really help. The bathrooms do need a gut job and showers should be put in in place of tubs.
