"So many other lovely Riads"

2.0

This riad was absolutely nothing like advertised and should not be listed as a four-star property. In my opinion, it would struggle to qualify as even one star. The entire place felt dirty, unsafe, and badly maintained. There were exposed plug sockets hanging off the walls, broken furniture in the bedroom, and the bathroom facilities were awful. We were given one towel that was dirty and ripped down the middle, the toilet seat was broken and didn’t stay attached properly, and the shower couldn’t even be mounted on the wall so had to be held by hand to wash. The pool was completely unusable due to dirt and bird droppings, and there was bird mess on the tables and chairs in the breakfast area where guests were expected to eat. The upstairs outdoor space looked more like a dumping ground for old furniture and possessions than a relaxing guest area, and all of the sunbeds were broken. The riad was also advertised as having a hammam and spa facilities, neither of which were actually available during our stay. We raised our concerns while we were there and were told we would be moved rooms, but this never happened and nothing was resolved. The only positive thing about this riad was Abdul, who was friendly and did his best to help despite the condition of the property itself. I understand standards vary between countries and I was not expecting luxury, but I did expect basic cleanliness, safety, and honesty in the advertising. Unfortunately this property did not provide any of those things.

"DO NOT VISIT- 0* rating"

2.0

I have complained to love holidays this hotel was disgusting , paid for a room with a balcony, got a 10 x 10ft cell with no windows and refused to give me a different room. No bar, no spa. The pool was more like an atrium and was dirty and had a pipe from the ceiling dangerously dangling into it. Was not chancing the bed found a beautiful 3* hotel, and moved straight out

"AVOID!!!"

2.0

Absolutely disgusting, not 4 star at all. More like a 1 star if im being generous. Max 2 mins of luke warm water in the shower each morning. Filthy, stained, smelly bedding and towels. Pool unusable due to smelly dirty water. No sauna, no hammam, no spa. Building should be condemned. Wouldn't even let rats stay there!!! AVOID! surprised we didn't come home with multiple illnesses!!

"Honest review"

Location was great right in the hustle and bustle of the city..walking distance to the markets...shops practically outside.. Atmosphere from Abdul was appalling...had to ask for toilet paper and when we asked for butter he was raging as he had to go out and buy some. Breakfast was ok. Bread jam cheese and tea or coffee... The rooms were ok enough to get a good night's sleep..roof terrace not clean broken loungers Entrance hall with pool well pictures from love holidays need to advertise correct photos. We had booked for 4 nights only stayed too as the atmosphere from Abdul was appalling...

"Disgusting one star hostel"

2.0

Reported for fraud - love holidays for misrepresentation - Morrocco travel police - no spa , the pool was green and untouched - roof terrace and spa??? European cuisine ??? . No food choice , water to drink , rooms left unlocked , dark damp smelly not suitable for anyone - disgusting and dangerous - we were assaulted in the back alleys after being left by the transport company in the night to wander the alleys to find this place - no footpaths - no lighting - holes in the ground - the local market smells really bad , tries to be pleasant and cope but the place needs condemning and pleased we ate out and stayed out on trips - owner ignored us on the final day as I called out the fact we had bought two lots of toilet rolls and both went missing - disgusting and frightening place - - room had no window and all the photos on the sites are fake - smells like cat wee and really cold - not one nice thing to see here and I feel conned and ripped off - hardly any people and this their were traumatised by the blatant lies and missold hotel - my clothes smelled the floor was filthy and I felt dirty for the 3 nights we stayed - - never returning to Marrakesh Trips were amazing and saved the holiday !!!!

"Flawed, but well located, suck it up moaners!"

6.0

There have been a fair few negative reviews of the Hotel, and yes, they do need addressing, we had to ask for toilet paper even though it was obvious that we had, or were running out. The shower head fell off on first use, continually fell off and sprayed water everywhere, we had room 1 right next to the lobby/dining room, so was quite noisy at times, the room needs a good lick of paint and updating, the TV didn't work at all, though I doubt BBC World news would be available, the Pool is pretty pointless, the breakfast though basic was fine, nice tea, croissant, bread and Jams. The plus points are it's very well located in the bustling heart of the Town, it felt safe, well lit, only gangs of old ladies on the street corners, and the staff were very friendly, complaints about language barriers make me laugh, YOU'RE IN THEIR COUNTRY, LEARN FRENCH OR ARABIC!!! Overall yes it's got problems, but we spent 4 nights and weren't really bothered after the first. Also they were kind enough to print off our boarding pass for departure, apparently the Airport will rip you right off.

Option 1: The "All-Rounder" (Great for general praise) Headline: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Marrakech! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Mandalay. From the moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the peaceful atmosphere, which is a perfect contrast to the hustle and bustle of the nearby souks. The decor is stunning and authentic, and our room was spotless and very comfortable. A huge thank you to the staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—their hospitality truly made the trip special. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was the highlight of our mornings! Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing Moroccan experience.

"Absolutely shocking and NOT a four star more like a one star"

2.0

My friend and I booked to go to Marrakech as we’d been to Agadir last year. We decided to embrace the culture and chose to stay in a Riad. We opted for this place as Love Holidays describes it as 4 star. The photos on their website make it look fabulous and they describe the hammam and spa included. The rooms are shown as lovely with ornate bedroom furniture and bedding. We booked a half board package because we wasn’t sure about the locality of restaurants. When we arrived someone called Abdul met us on the street as the taxis didn’t fit up the front door. This is the same in most of the Riads in the old city. When we got inside we realised exactly how much Love Holidays have this place falsely advertised. There is no hammam and spa, let’s get that out of the way first. The beautiful rooftop with sun loungers is not beautiful at all. The loungers are all broken and it’s filthy up there. The rooms are nothing like those pictures on the website. We asked other guests if their rooms were nice like the pictures and they said no. The sheets on my bed were ripped and stained. There is no toilet paper supplied and the towels are disgusting. We had to go out and buy our own towels as theres were not fit to wipe down your dog. On our first night we decided to eat out as we wanted to spend as much time as possible away from the Riad. When we returned we had Abdul moaning at us because we didn’t have our evening meal that we have paid for. The breakfast is bread and jam and horrible coffee so we had breakfast out too. We went into the kitchen and it was filthy. We were horrified. Looks like a place that would be closed down by the HSE if it were in England. I appreciate this is how these people live but it’s not how I live and NOT what Love Holidays describe it as. We spent every day out on excursions as it was so bad. The room had damp up the walls and the plug sockets were hanging out too. The light in the bathroom only had one bulb working and there were wires hanging out. The sanitary ware was filthy. It looks like the taps had never been cleaned. It is without doubt a disgusting place and how Love Holidays have the audacity to label it 4 star is beyond me. I have attached photos showing how bad it is. Please compare them with the ones advertised on Love Holidays to see the difference. Needless to say they will be hearing from us on our return.
