Chapter House Boutique Hotel

We had an incredible stay! Nelson made our friend’s birthday incredibly memorable and special during our 3 night stay. We were treated very well and the room with the pool was great! Jay B helped us out with our requests and made our experience really welcoming and hospitable. Everything you need for a stay in Franschhoek. It’s centrally located with an easy walk to restaurants, shops and art galleries. Highly recommend!

Great location two blocks from the main restaurant/ shopping area. A gentle period hotel, once a church (Chapter House), then a school and now a boutique hotel with a small swimming pool. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. The staff can’t do enough for you ( including lifting wheelchairs down some of the external and internal steps). Wesley was especially attentive to our every need. Always smiling. Always around when we needed him. But ALL the staff were delightful. The rooms were very clean and well appointed - there is the ‘school’ side and a new modern ‘annex’ to the hotel. We stayed in the ‘school’ side. Beds very comfy. Great night’s sleep. Large bathrooms with walk in shower + large bath. Internet TV. Coffee and tea making. Little treats left on the pillows and desk. This is a quiet retreat. Quaint. It is the kind of hotel you would re-book on another occasion.

This is a charming hotel close to the Main Street in Franschhoek. It is calm and peaceful with lovely staff. We found ourselves having to use a wheelchair for my husband, which we had not expected when we booked. We had outstanding service from everyone on the staff but especially from Wesley who went way beyond expectations to look after us.

We had an amazing stay at ChapterHouse! The hotel was beautiful and perfectly located right by the town - ideal for exploring the area. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Everything about the experience was pleasant and comfortable. Great location, great service, and an all-round amazing hotel — highly recommended! Our only disappointment was that we only stayed two nights wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful decor, outstanding breakfast, customer service was amazing. Alex was so helpful and an absolute gentleman as was Wesley! Will definitely come again. All staff were amazing.

This was our second stop on our three week trip to the Western Cape South Africa and it did not disappoint. We received a lovely welcome and were shown to our beautiful room. A special thanks to the young lady who showed us around and gave us lots of valuable information and the lovely young man who lit the fire in our room on the fist night, we really enjoyed it, so special! This hotel is absolutely lovely, the public spaces, the amenities and the staff are all amazing. We had dinner there on the first night as part of our package and it was very good. Breakfast was also excellent! They advised us of the best routes to take on the wine tram, one of the best days of our lives, and also booked a tasting and dinner for us at Le Lude, which was incredible. The hotel is right in the centre of Franschhoek, so everywhere is walkable, the drive in from Cape Town is pretty special too! Thank you! Mandy and Peter x

We loved our stay at The Chapter House. Upon arrival we were taken back by the Tardis like feel of the property. The photos do not do it justice! The design was beautiful and carefully considered to ensure we were taken care of wherever we were on the property. Our personal favourites were the 24hr Bar and Coffee stations! Our room was equally spacious and complete with all the amenities and more, including a plunge pool. The wonderful staff are what really made our stay magical. Everybody was friendly and welcoming,nothing was too much trouble and we felt completely looked after by everyone we met. A special thanks to Wesley for paying attention to every little detail and going above and beyond. We will definitely be back and can’t wait for our next stay.

Had a two night stay at Chapter House Botique. This hotel is in a great location in the middle of Franschhoek. The hotel itself is lovely but with a few flaws. The blow dryer in the room did not fit in the outlet. This was resolved as we called management and they provided an adapter. There is no towel rack in the bathroom for a hand towel, and the towel holders for the bath towels are extremely high. The hot and cold water symbols in the shower are labeled incorrectly. The wastebasket in the bathroom is very light so when you go to step on it to open the lid, it flips over. The USB ports are hard to get to as they are close to the baseboard behind the nightstands. There was construction at the hotel and the workers were on a ladder just outside of our bathroom window which posed a privacy issue. On our second day, we lost our heat. After approximately three hours we were moved to a sister hotel. Management did a great job getting us moved and even personally drove us to the sister hotel, provided a complimentary bottle of wine . We get up the next morning only to find out that the sister hotel does not provide breakfast and we would need to walk 10 minutes back to the Chapter house for breakfast. This was a bit of an issue because our luggage was being picked up to be transported to our future hotel while we were scheduled to go on a day tour. This meant we not only had to unexpectedly walk back to the Chapter house for breakfast but then we had to race back to the sister hotel because we had changed our luggage pickup and our tour pick up to the sister hotel. We felt that was an important piece of information that should’ve been communicated to allow us to plan additional time to travel for breakfast and back. Upon arriving for breakfast there was no power at the Chapter House. Fortunately the staff was able to provide a quick coffee and a light continental breakfast. We realize unexpected events occur and sometimes things don’t go as planned but communication is a key factor in reducing unnecessary stressful situations.

Chapter House is a lovely boutique hotel located within walking distance of the shops & restaurants in Franschhoek. A mixture of old & new in design both extremely stylish & comfortable. The smell of woodsmoke as the evening drew in was lovely. Breakfast was included, a selection of buffet & cooked to order . The staff were all so friendly & helpful. We would return in a heartbeat .
