Khaolak Bhandari Resort & Spa

5 stars for the lush grounds, beautiful pool, rustic and restful common areas, wonderful staff and generous breakfast buffet. Minus one star for my room which needed some TLC from skilled tradespeople, especially the bathroom.

Bhandari resort is in the heart of Khaolak and is a traditional Thai style with the water type villas and there are apartments in the hotel, its a very short stroll to the beach were it can be nice to relax away from the hotel pool, overall I feel this hotel is a relaxing atmosphere with lovely surroundings and short walks to main street for shops, the food in the hotel amazing experience with a Friday night having a Thai night what a great show,food and atmosphere.

Such a beautiful hotel, very traditional with a homely welcoming feel, set in stunning tranquil surroundings. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the food was great, and the breakfast selection was good too. Definitely somewhere to come if you want to relax. Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, and 10 minutes to local shops it's a perfect location.

Myself and my husband absolutely love this hotel, the staff are attentive and friendly and would do anything they could to make your stay enjoyable, the food is lovely and it always feels like home and we would recommend it to anyone. we will be visiting in February 2026 and it will be our 4th time at this hotel ,and I can't think of a better place to spend my birthdaysee you soon.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with lotus trees, palm trees and ponds making the whole place feel like paradise. The hotel has a rustic and authentic Thai feel. If you want to avoid bland concrete hotels, this is the place to stay. We stayed in a bungalow which was delightful and spacious. The free bottled water each day and aircon make the humidity so much easier to cope with. The pool has a lagoon feel and a bubble pool area. The pool is lovely but some of the tiles on the bottom have sharp edges. The decking on the edge is in need of some repair so wear flip flops to get to the pool. Overall, we loved our time round the pool. There was no-one rushing or fighting for sun loungers, it was really relaxing and a perfect place to chill. The food is good and the Friday Thai themed buffet and entertainment is definitely worth a try. The food and beverage team were brilliant, so friendly and efficient. The pool bar cafe is good for lunch and cocktails throughout the day. Location wise, it’s not directly on a beach, the nearest small beach is a short 2 minutes walk away. The beach isn’t really suitable for sunbathing and the sea is rough due to rocks. It’s pretty to go down to watch the sunset. We were saddened by the litter washed up on the beach and broken glass. It is a short 5-10 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants; we enjoyed wandering into the town after dinner. There is also Woods bar, with a fire show every night, and food stalls next to the hotel. We enjoyed the chilled Big Tree Bar in the hotel and went there most nights. I visited the spa for a massage, the spa like the hotel has a rustic authentic Thai vibe. I had the Bhandari Asian massage which was quite frankly more painful than relaxing. My back still hurts! I did ask for medium pressure and at one point had to ask her to stop. I’d go with the Butterfly massage if like me you prefer your massages to be more comfortable. We had a warm welcome when we arrived from reception staff but on the other occasions we spoke to reception they were polite but not especially friendly. When we checked out early in the morning we were asked to wait for our room to be checked by housekeeping before we could get in our airport transport. We found this a bit rude as we hadn’t expected it and would have gone to reception earlier for them to conduct the check had we known that was required. To summarise, we loved our stay at the Bhandari and would definitely recommend it for those wanting a peaceful, tranquil and more natural Thai experience.

The resort is very peaceful with exceptional friendly staff that are more than happy to tend to your needs. Exotic wildlife, beautiful beach, and easy access to to bars, shops restaurants, and Bang Niang Market, it's an easy choice to choose Bhandari. In addition, the food is fantastic, especially local cuisine. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Absolutely stunning hotel, I’ll add some pictures below of the hotel grounds. The hotel reception and the hotel rooms are all wooden, so not modern at all but we absolutely loved it. To get to our room and back was such a nice scenic walk. Breakfast was also one of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel, they even make whatever eggs you request infront of you. The only reason i have not rated it a 5 star is due to the massive lizard issue. As someone who is extremely afraid of lizards or just fast moving pests in general I wasn’t a fan of them in my hotel room. I didn’t mind them around the hotel but when I was in bed and they was scurrying across the roof or I was walking around my room and they would run past my feet it was terrfying. I did ring reception for help to see if they had a net to catch some in our room and a young man came that didn’t speak any English and he didn’t know what to do.

We stayed only one night, but it was very good. Hotel is cozy, beautiful gardens all around, SPA was great and the stuff all very polite and helpful. Special mention to Eva, New and Bee, they are very dedicated to make guests feel well.

This Hotel is amazing capturing traditional style with modern comforts. The reception staff Bee, Aom, Eva, Miew, Kait, New, Dear, Siddy, Bam, Few and Bow are extremely helpful and always greet you with a smile and are very welcoming. The breakfast menu is very good, the rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent. What are you wating for book your stay you won't regret it 😃
