Surfers Riverside

While Riverside is in a great location, our experience started with a non smoking room which you could smell the cigarette smoke from outside the window walking past the Unit. After talking with management, they offered to clean it again and later offered us another room as the smell could not be fully removed. We were given the keys to another room which did not smell of smoke, however, the room was far from clean with dirty floors, smear marks on the walls and visable stains on the sides of the mattress and other furniture, uncleaned cooking equipment, no mattress protectors on the beds, thick dust in the cupboards and left over items from previous guests. They blamed the state of the room on having to quickly prepare it for our stay as we rejected the smoke filled room. However, many of the stains and dust seem to have been there for a while. We contacted Expedia and asked for a refund based on the state of the rooms, they (Riverside Apartments) offered us $100 refund and another clean of the room. They then reduced this offer to $85. After 4 hours of this, we decided to leave at our own expense.

Very clean apartment however in the backpackers street so very noisy at night. Neighbours woke us every night with loud talking and laughing at 3 am and didn’t stop till 6 am when the party ends. If I was 20 it would have been better but I’m not so would rather sleep at night. But beach is 5 minutes away and suite was Very clean.

Great spot close to the city, beach just a short walk ,public transport. Very quiet spot very happy with location overlooking the river and city scape. Just required more toilet paper, dishwasher liquid as we stayed a while, otherwise perfect for our first time in the Gold Coast. We will be back in town June July so we look forward to next time very family oriented and relaxing holiday Inn. Cheers C. Bryant

Holes in wall. Not clean. Not enough kitchen plates, glasses, cooking tools.

Bathrooms old and worn, showers very aged and not very clean. Overpriced for condition

Spacious apartments, plenty of room for 4 adults to comfortably holiday in. About a 10 minute walk to the beach and Cavill Ave, perfect if you want to be amongst the surfers atmosphere without actually being right in the thick of it. Decent sized pool overlooking the river, and high rises, Great for a little people watch. Check in was easy, as it was New Year’s Eve weekend, we checked in outside of office hours, simple instructions were emailed through prior to arrival on how to collect room and car park key from lock box at front of apartment building. Although, I didn’t see much of the staff, the lady I gave my key to at reception when checking out was lovely! Would definitely stay here again :)

Air-con worked well, room under inspection was filthy, food scraps and bottle tops on the floor, no pillow protectors, old and torn pillows, mattress protector left with body fluid stains, pubic hair in shower and around toilet base, fluid stains on table tops, dirty glasses, food left in cupboard, used cotton buds in sink, filthy glass doors, cigarette butts and drink container left on balcony, cigarette ash swept into corner. Woke up scratching - ended up scratching all day. We left room to go to a family Xmas day party arrived back late that day and had a good look at the room and found all these issues. Called management next morning (so others could have a good Xmas day) and explained issues they said they would fix all issues, we agreed to leave the room and be back by 3 pm they would get the cleaner in. We arrived back only a new mattress protector and 2 new pillows had been changed, there were no sheets, pillow cases. We called management and they the cleaners did the wrong room and laughed. It spoiled our Xmas experience at the Gold Coast.

spent a week here for my birthday with some of the girls. Enjoyed the whole entire time. Close to surfers paradise, the beach and public transport

Paint missing from the walls in the lounge room & bedroom. Out dated bedroom with sheets & bedding. 2 showers in a 1 bedroom unit, the main bathroom shower screen would not close well. The shower head was extremely powerful & uncomfortable. No view, into the next door neighbours backyard. Noisy in the afternoon. Only good point was it was close walking distance to Surfers,
