Surfers Riverside

I stayed at this hotel over a weekend for a getaway with some friends and we were pleased with our accommodation. Situated so close to Cavill Avenue and public transport links, we were really impressed with the location. Room was admittedly a bit dated, but this just promoted the 'homey' nature of the complex. We loved the outdoor pool with stunning waterfront views of the canal. Overall, a nice simple place to stay if you're not looking for anything too fancy. Good price for a good apartment.

Good value for it's location, walking distance to bus stops & to Surfers Paradise shops. The apartment we stayed in has a bad smell, had to open the sliding doors & windows to ventilate it upon entering. 2nd room was small, cramped in with a noisy sofa bed which needs to be changed. Well equipped kitchen, washing machine & dryer.

The location was key, 700m walk to cavil av and shops, rather quiet seeming there where backpackers across the road. Only complaint was that you could hear the next room and the ones down stairs.

Our unit was a couple of block from Cavill mall and a quiet area, the smelly mattresses down the road wasn't a pleasant thing to walk past. Room needs an update but still comfortable and a good size plenty of room.

Check in was at 2pm and they allowed us to keep out big bags behind the counter so we didn't have to walk around with them all day. Hotel was cosy and tidy. Shops, bus stop to theme park and trams were all within walking distance. Had two minor problems. A pipe started leaking in the kitchen and we let reception know, they got it fixed asap. Also only one powerpoint for the tv and DVD player so they provided us with a double adaptor to watch both. Hotel staff were very nice. Only downside was having to pay to get fresh towels etc for our 6 night stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Was good for value and we enjoyed our stay.

This was a great little place for our family my expectation was value for money and just a clean little base for us to come home to. This is exactly what we got. Pleasant but not flashy clean and tidy. Pool was lovely and being able to have a fish off the jetty was fun. Had a great time and the air conditioning was a definate plus.

Our family of 5 spent 7 days at this apartment complex. The location and pool were by far the favourite of the family. 2 block walking distance to Cavill Avenue. Kids loved the pool. We were in Unit 6 with balcony access directly to the pool. Downside to this was being disturbed by people swimming past the 9pm pool closing hours. Upside was the great views of the river and easy access to the pool. Free carparking was also useful - security in general was adequate. The apartment itself was adequate for the week's stay, but we would look elsewhere before booking again. Kitchen facilities were useful and had all we needed to have basic meals. 2 bedrooms housed our family of 5 well with 3 kids sharing a queen bed/bunk arrangement. However, the apartment could be cleaned better - some long term dirt accumulation. Linen was clean and fresh. Air conditioning was appreciated, as with the ceiling fan and floor fan in bedrooms. We had access to the clothesline which was good as our dryer kept tripping the fuse and we could not use it. It was not clean inside however, and the dishwasher had a funny smell that consumed the apartment. The master bed was particularly uncomfortable, with bed springs pushing through in parts - meant we woke with sore backs. Finally the paint on the ceiling kept flaking off randomly and would be on our bed or on the sofa as a plaster dust.

Accomodation was in a good location with Cavill Mall less than 10 minute walk away. Woolworths and Coles 5 minutes away. Secure parking in basement. Our room had a bathroom and also an ensuite from main bedroom. Hotel had a swimming pool and BBQ, although we did not have time to use either of these facilities.These apartments are only serviced if you stay 8 days or longer, so once you have used the toilet paper for example, it is then up to you to purchase your own. Dishwashing liquid was provided in a sachet for a couple of days but then you had to purchase your own or get from them for .50cents each. I think it would be nice if they provided liquid dishwashing liquid in a bottle, even if it was only half full when you arrive, this would be more convenient. There was no wooden spoon in the drawer, which would have been handy and also a scourer for doing dishes. I feel that the apartment looked a bit tired and needed some painting and the shower cubicles could have been a bit cleaner. However, overall we were happy with the place.
