Nothing to dislike

From arriving at the hotel - we arrived later in the evening, the welcome was great, we were made to feel welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble from the hardworking team. It was lovely to stay in what feels a homely, family, not corporate, hotel, very personal, friendly, and warm. It's a lovely, quirky, characterful building, little staircases off at angles and directions, really great. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, great quality and piping hot, good selection of cereals and juices, alongside the cooked choices - full English was lovely, washed down with a decent pot of tea. On our second evening, we had dinner too, excellent, lovely quality ingredients, well prepared and cooked, a nicely paced meal, lovely starter, fantastic steak, and a delicious dessert, all in front of a blazing log burner while the biting, cold wind blew outside.

Nothing, it was great, and its on my list for the next time I stay in the area.

Quirky hotel with attentive staff, great find. Able to enjoy a stay with dogs for a small fee.
