Hundred House Hotel

Really quirky and atmospheric. Perfect for an autumn overnight stay on our journey south. Great restaurant. Really enjoyed our stay.

The food was first class and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The stair carpet to the accommodation was disgusting and smelly the room was ridiculous it had a swing in it attached to the bed with plastic ivy and flowers tied to it the lights were small chandeliers which gave out very little light the bed had a mattress which must have been cast in concrete the pillows were flat as pancakes and the blankets were as thin as the previously mentioned pancakes there were two chairs in the room to watch the small tv these chairs were only suitable for children. The onsuite was clean but there was no hook on the back of the door and no shelf in the shower (there is plenty of space to do so).

It was different to anything we’d stayed in before. Quirky having the swing in the room, great bathroom. Lovely comfortable bed. Gardens great, probably wonderful in the summer.

Had an evening meal which was exceptional. Service a little slow and another couple had their order taken before us even though arrived after us. The floor had been washed so was wet when we came down for breakfast, think it should have been done after breakfast had finished.

Great food and very welcoming staff. A proper country pub feel with a quirky nature. Great selection of beers.

The room i was in was a little 'busy'. I can see that was the aim but it wasn't as relaxing as i'd hoped. Maybe it would be fine for social travelling, however it was a bit full on after a day at work. The swing in the room was a little off putting.

Lovely staff and an excellent breakfast. It's a beautiful old building - the room decoration is.... quirky, but I suppose it makes it memorable! The only issue we had was that the road was fairly noisy (it's an A road), but it quietened down after about 11pm.

Lovely food ,fantastic ale great central location, been twice will be going a third time
