Hundred House Hotel

The quirky surrounds - the family business feel to the place, the excellent location

It is a 'quirky' older hotel with some nice features. Our room was decorated with purple wallpaper covered with pink hearts and had a plastic flower covered swing in the middle of the room. The bed was very high and quite hard to get in or out of. A small stool would have been useful. Some of the other rooms appeared to be very small. On the plus side the building is old (how many centuries?) with lots of character. The food in the pub was excellent - both the included breakfast and the optional dinner and definitely worth going to just for the food. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Bridgenorth is a lovely nearby town, well worth a visit.

We liked the mood, the ambience, the dramatic styling of the place, and the food. We didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast was very good. Access to the garden was a lovely bonus.

Sadly, for a family of five, our room location did not provide a decent night's sleep. We liked the extravagant room decoration, but the noise from the traffic and the light from outside ensured that some of us didn't sleep well. The window had an extra insulating window over it, but it wasn't that effective. The main double bed wasn't that comfy either as we could feel the bed springs beneath us.
