Combe House Hotel

Amazing hotel, very clean, food and staff fantastic!

When we realised we would be arriving outside of check-in times, I called the hotel number (from their website) and they made sure we would still be able to get to our room. Room 17 was lovely, particularly enjoyed the bathtub after such a long drive, the water was very hot! Rooms were immaculate, quality towels and bedding. Peaceful at night, I slept very well. Breakfast was included, cooked items were an extra cost, but I was more than happy with the buffet provided. I enjoyed reading about the history of the building in their information guide. I spoke to a lady in the morning about the possibility of checking out late, as we had arrived so late the night before and they were able to let us stay a while longer. We didn’t get any mobile signal there, which I didn’t mind, and there was the option to pay a small fee for the password to their Wifi. There was a phone in the room and we were able to make outgoing calls, so this was enough for us to keep in touch with family.

I found the main course a little salty - maybe because I’m not used to it.

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. A perfect location for a bridal party to get ready. Very accommodating and supportive.

Setting and warmth and coziness. I was exhausted and got breakfast in bed with no fuss. Just smiles

Owner/manager was a little frosty.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and especially accommodating about our 3 dogs in the party. Room was perfect, at the back of the hotel but great with pets. We loved the decor and history of the hotel and there is a beautiful walk above the hotel.

No complaints at all but the bar was closed when we got home on a Friday at 10pm and we could not get anything to eat for a late lunch the following day as they had stoped serving food.

Superb location and lovely old building and rooms. Good food.
