"Do not recommend."

Lots of rust and peeling paint on the outside of hotel. Inside ok but still kind of shabby. Front desk person must have been new. She didn't unserstand that i had already paid through hotels.com and wanted to charge me again. All i wanted to do was sleep.

"Never EVER Again!"

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and the staff had been exceptionally friendly! We always enjoyed how they welcomed us and then in the morning always told us to have a safe trip when checking out! This time we were absolutely shocked at what happened. We arrived just after 3:00 which is check-in. There was nobody in the office and the door was locked. We noticed a sign and a bell, (see pics) which we rang and waited patiently. We rang the bell again after several minutes of waiting, and then again. When I rang the bell the fourth time, I finally heard it ring, and realized that the entire time spent waiting was wasted, since it didn't actually ring. We repeated this process, again and again, without any response. Most times the bell would not ring, no matter how hard we pressed. Other potential guests came, waited with us for quite a while, and then left. By this time we were getting quite upset, since it was clear that nobody was around. Our cell time had expired, and we had no way of calling Choice Hotels. We wondered if the hotel had closed, or gone bankrupt, or what!! Finally after almost half an hour the owner showed up, telling us that he'd been gone 5 minutes!!! When I told him that we had been waiting for much longer than that he absolutely exploded at me. I was shocked speechless. He then proceeded to rant and rave, and everytime we tried to speak he cut us off. He then told us as he unlocked the office door, that he was cancelling our reservation, and we could leave. Since he wouldn't speak to me, my husband tried to tell him we just wanted to go to our room since we had been up since 5:30 travelling. He then escalated to calling us racist, so I pulled out my cell phone and recorded this converstaion since nobody would believe it! I was shaking so hard that I realized I hadn't pushed the record button so I missed about 4 minutes of this rant that by this time had been going on for almost 10 minutes. Even then, I captured 3 and a half minutes of unbelievable raving with my cell pointed at the floor. By this time he had calmed down some, and my husband had convinced him to allow us to stay. We didn't get to our room until well past 4:00, and I was still shaking with a pounding headache. I have never felt so helpless, and as Choice Platinum Members we will be letting Choice know of our experience. We will never EVER be back!!

"Not worth any money! Terrible service!"

I travel a lot but this was extremely unpleasant experience and the worst hotel I've ever had a chance to stay in so far. While it's close to interstate and it's pretty cheap that's all about good things... I was traveling with my family and while we had a long distance to go, we wanted to make a reservation last minute with flexibility where we are. I used Hotels.com to book a hotel on our way with check-in around midnight. The front desk person was extremely unfriendly and yelling (sic!) at me that I'm this new generation of people who always do reservations online instead of calling and big companies kill little business. He was yelling at me that I made a reservation for a smoking room when travelling with a child. No mention there were no non-smoking rooms available online and that's why I asked. Never had a problem with this, especially while doing a check-in so late we always get a free upgrade. Unfortunately, I paid ahead and he was not willing me to calcel reservation and go elsewhere, but ASKED for a NEW PAID RESERVATION to upgrade the room from smoking to non-smoking. The room was not clean, everything was falling apart and the pictures you see definitely do not express the real state of the hotel. The coffee is only in the little room where front desk is and the breakfast has pretty much no choice of fair quality products so we even skipped it... I didn't expect a luxury for this price but this experience went way further towards bad than I could even imagine.

We asked for ground floor room we were told no and then he came outside and said he would change it. Moldy smell desperately needs updating
