Econo Lodge Wytheville I-77 & I-81

Very convenient location, easy to get on and off of I-77. The room was remodeled, but very sloppily. But we were just there to sleep for the night. It seemed like a little bit of shady activity was going on later at night. The woman at the check in desk was very nice and sweet, and I think she might be the only one running the place??? Because she was also cleaning the rooms in the morning!

Booked 2 rooms. 1 room was ok...the other no so clean.

Staff betty was super nice and caring. We arrived late at night and she was helpful. I didn't have any complaints except someone forgot to put toilet paper in room. There was none but i had roll with me luckily. I'm sure betty would've gave me some if i asked but didn't want to bother her after i checked in. Thank you for letting us stay with yall.

Clean/no-frills; Good price point for a stop over.

Motel is in need of some repairs. Tub/shower faucets were difficult to regulate. Rooms are definitely showing signs of age. Motel staff was very nice.

Look, theres some concessions one might make for a room in this price range, but feeling unsafe and grossed out are not in that consideration. Place just feels nasty. Exterior hasnt had anything done to it in decades. The photos they post arent accurate. Im a grown, able bodied man but I was uncomfortable leaving my car out there all night. Saw several sketchy looking people on the property. In fact, I left there and found another place to stay. I cant imagine whats going on in the laundry, or housekeeping, or other places we dont see. I used to rely on the Choice brand of hotels because there was a minimum standard a property used to have to keep. But on several occasions now, I see this has become meaningless. They clearly dont care what their properties become, and dont enforce any standards on properties that carry their brand.

Budget friendly and safe. Staff went out of their way to provide service. I appreciate the friendliness!

Staff was friendly, but they had some issues. For example, no one was usually at the front lobby; I had to wait or go look for someone. The floor of the room must have been very dirty because we noticed our bare feet were dirty after walking on it. The bathroom had several sloppy repairs done which they attempted to hide with paint. Nothing was a deal-killer, but be prepared to get what you pay for.

Stayed here may times but condition continues to deteriorate. The family stayed overnight (June 15) and awakened to a bed full of bedbugs gorged with our blood!!! Our bodies covered in itchy, red bites.
