Econo Lodge Wytheville I-77 & I-81

I booked this hotel April 10th for a May 21st stay with a SMOKING ROOM. I did not get a smoking room, I had to stand outside. All the smoking rooms were booked?? How is this possible if i reserved 6 weeks prior? Everything else about our stay was pleasant from check in to check out. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and lots of pillows.

I believe this is the most disgusting hotel property I have ever stayed at in my entire life. I booked a non-smoking room and was greeted by an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. There were cigarette holes burned into the bed sheets, and the wallpaper, which was peeling off the walls, was stained yellow. Most of the electrical outlets did not work, and the room was absolutely infested with roaches. I would have left immediately if it were not for sheer exhaustion. I had to be careful when walking to the bathroom not to step on any live roaches, and a closer look revealed several dead ones throughout the room. There appears to be several people who "live" at the hotel, presumably on a "weekly" rent basis. The bed sheets were stained and dirty, and I find it highly unlikely they have been washed anytime recently. The air conditioner in the window was falling apart, and made a very loud shrill when I turned it on. I probably would have slept with the door open were the hotel not so close to the interstate highway in order to alleviate the smell of cigarette smoke. I left hurriedly in the morning, but the hotel office was closed and there was a phone number to call (taped to the door) if you needed a receipt. Absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life. Never, ever again.

I had made a 3 night reservation and left after 1. The rooms were dirty and smelled of smoke and mold. My mother's room had a broken air conditioner that clangged loudly and ROACHES! All the bedding were dirty and had stains. There were constant people in and out making all kinds of noise. Drig use and drinking in the parking lot. Worst off when I asked to check out early they refused to refund me anything. It was absolutely horrific

Dog hair on bedspread. Shampoo, cream rinse and little lotion bottles had been used out of. Ceiling tile missing in bathroom. Very little water pressure when taking a shower. Stains on sheets. Bedspread has large burn holes in it. Would not stay there again.

Recently renovated so everything was good.

Just stopped by in my way to Kentucky. Front desk service was friendly and professional.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very nice. The property itself is a little dated but over all we had a nice stay.

There wasn't a trash can in the room. We had to use a plastic bag from the grocery store.

Staff was friendly, and check in was easy. Requested a ground room floor and one was saved for us. The room wasn’t the cleanest but far from uncomfortable. The breakfast was sub par but there was a Waffle House directly across the street. Also, property description is accurate. Again though, have had better breakfast options at other Econo Lodges, and a better breakfast assortment/quality would absolutely increase the satisfaction of the stay. Overall, we are happy with our stay and the room served its purpose.
