"Beautiful Hotel with amazing staff"

10.0

Beautiful hotel. We had an event at the Cotswold Distillery and booked Charingworth Manor as part of a quiet celebration for my husbands 50th. I informed the hotel of our dietary requirements as we booked in for Dinner at the hotel. I had a phone call to ask if everything was ok as our arrival was passed 7pm. We stayed in the Cheltenham room and this meet all our needs and more. Beautiful furniture, lots of choice with teas and coffees, large bathroom with a shower over the bath. Large comfy bed and we both slept well. The hotel staff even left a lovely Birthday card for my husband in the room. Dinner was divine and the restaurant staff could of not have been more attentive to our needs. We had a lovely table and the service we received was 10/10. Breakfast did not disappoint either with a large choice on the menu along side some self service fresh items to choose from. The grounds and views are just amazing to wake up to in the morning. Check out was a breeze and we will be retuning. Can not thank the team enough.

"Fantastic Staff"

10.0

Don't often do many reviews but felt I had to write a quick one. Went for a dog friendly break over half term and although they can`t do much about the weather we had a great stay. Lovely location and settings. Clean and tidy rooms. What set this break apart was the staff. Breakfast team were superb. Couldn't fault them on anything. Choice, selection and quality was fantastic. All the other staff we came into contact were friendly, approachable and helpful. To cap it all and the plonker that I am I left my laptop in my room. Posted and received 48 hours later. THANK YOU!! My only only slight negative was the pool was a bit chilly so put me off using it a second time which was a shame as it is lovely and relaxing.

"Under new ownership"

8.0

We've stayed before and it's a delightfully quiet location 3 miles out of town. Access is slightly tricky but the reason becomes obvious on arrival (the small side road entrance adjacent to the building has been closed, and you need to use the main carriage drive entrance on the B4035) See their directions for details. An amount of decorating work has been done by the new owners who are engaging in a programme of room reburbishment. Whether necessary is another matter, it is claimed the rooms are 'dated' but some oldies (like us) actually like 'dated' rather than new fixtures and fittings with a 21st century feel. Each to their own. Rumour has it the swimming pool may be closed, which would remove one big reason for using this hotel. There are several more 4-star hotels within easy reach, and this facility gives them the edge. (even though the water's cold). Breakfasts are very good with locally sourced cooked fare to order. Also a selection of fresh fruit and home-made compotes. There's a wide choice of artisan marmalades.

"A wonderful, chilled stay."

10.0

Booked for my husbands 60th birthday treat, I’ll admit I was initially a little underwhelmed by the size of our room, considering the price paid. However, that initial niggle soon disappeared, and we had a wonderful stay. The staff are all lovely, and we can’t praise the food at dinner and breakfast highly enough. I can honestly say that neither of us have ever had a breakfast as good. The room was decorated tastefully & simply, and everything was top quality. (I was surprised to find no TV at all, but that really didn’t bother us.) The bed was possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, too. One slight negative at the moment:- Charingworth has a fabulous indoor swimming pool, but due to current renovations, to reach it you either have to tip toe through the building work - or else brave the outside elements.

Lovely overnight stay. Room was comfy, lovely breakfast. My only comment would be to make the pool warm. It was too cold to swim in and enjoy.
