"A great get away in the country. "

10.0

We had a wonderful time at Charingworth Manor. We stayed for 4 days. It was under renovation so there were a few things missing but staff was wonderful. It is located out of town but the Cotswolds are vast and a car is needed.

"Fantastic staff throughout"

10.0

Fantastic staff throughout the hotel - we had a beautiful room and great meal in the evening. The cooked breakfast was not as good, but there was a great selection of cold food etc. The hotel is undergoing a lot of work but we were made fully aware of that. There was a problem with our room in terms of noise throughout the night (heating i think) but that was all rectified and sorted by the great staff. Once the hotel is updated and if the same staff are there, it will be even better.

"Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting"

10.0

We stayed in a garden view room which was split level with stairs down to the lovely bathroom. Bath and shower combined with a high step to get in, so people with a disability may find this a bit difficult. Good sized room and beautifully fitted out with lovely windows and views. Very comfortable King bed. Good breakfast. Restaurant is very good, lovely menu and staff very helpful and pleasant. A beautiful place to stay.

"Lovely Cotswold Treat with amazing food and service"

8.0

Absolutely wonderful food and service in a beautiful setting, this 14th Century Manor House is stunning. The staff were lovely and couldn’t have done more to make us feel comfortable. We had a dog with us and our room came with dog bowls, treats, a dog bed and a doggie welcome pack. Because not everyone loves dogs they put us in a private dining room with our dog for all our meals - which we loved as my father is hard-of-hearing and found the private space far easier to manage. The food here is absolutely wonderful - breakfast was a truly joyful continental buffet selection of pastries, cold meats, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, smoothies, juices, fresh honeycomb…plus a fantastic cooked selection (we had eggs Benedict, Full English and Smoked Salmon + Scrambled Egg. Lunch on arrival we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden on the patio and it was delicious. Dinner was fantastic (Seabream, Spatchcock Poussin) with superb desserts. Sunday lunch was melt-in-the-mouth roast lamb. The Chef is superb. The only reason we didn’t give 5 stars was because they’ve (only just) demolished the spa / swimming pool which was a real shame we’d all been looking forward to a swim and spa experience and there was clearly building work going on albeit we weren’t disturbed at all as it only happens during week days. We really hope they reintroduce some of those facilities again in the future.

"Exceptional"

10.0

The hotel is undergoing building works, but other than the view of diggers and contractors vehicles, it did not really cause an issue. The rooms were nicely refurbished. The food was excellent. When we booked, we chose the hotel partly because it had a pool. When we checked-in the pool had been closed permanently which was disappointing. Overall a very pleasant stay and walking distance to Ebrington.

"A great overnight stay"

10.0

My husband and I stayed at Charingworth Manor at the weekend and we had the most wonderful time. The room was beautiful with a number of options for teas and coffees as well as some sweet treats which was much appreciated! The bed was so comfy and we both slept well. We sat in the outside area as the weather was beautiful and the views were just delightful. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely divine and staff were ever so attentive and helpful. The lounge areas were very peaceful and relaxing and the marble solitaire although frustrating, was great fun! Highly recommend.

"Delightful stay in a country manor"

10.0

Delightful hotel is lovely surroundings, under new management and undergoing some changes. The bedroom was very modern and comfortable with large walk in shower, and upmarket toiletries. Meals were excellent and lots of healthy options at breakfast. Cosy lounges to sit in and read the papers. Very close to interesting places to visit like Hidcote gardens and Chipping Camden. The staff are friendly and helpful and yet not intrusive. The swimming pool has been closed to make way for a function room, but there is a tennis court. It felt like being a guest in a country home.

"Most disappointing!!"

2.0

This was so disappointing! Went for 3 nights and have visited here for the last 4 years when we to Cheltenham races! The price was double and the experience was dreadful. Poor evening meals, overpriced drinks, freezing, tiny ‘superior’ room, fire alarms going off, flooding in dining room over our table, swimming pool freezing! Still feels like a building site in places, Main front of house chap has left! Positives : friendly staff, breakfast and location.
