Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

From the moment we arrived, Kilaguni Serena Lodge set the tone for a truly special stay. On day one, our driver was already waiting for us at the SGR station, warm, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable. As we made our way into Tsavo West, he shared stories about the park’s history and wildlife, which immediately deepened our appreciation of the landscape unfolding around us. At the lodge, the welcome was just as gracious. The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive, making check-in feel effortless. We were able to enjoy lunch almost immediately, seamlessly settling into the rhythm of the place without any delays or fuss. One of the most magical moments was watching animals gather at the waterhole right in front of the lodge, almost as if they had come out to greet us. The main restaurant, with its sweeping views of the open plains, is stunning! Serene, expansive, and the perfect backdrop for every meal. The rooms are rustic, charming, and very well maintained, striking that rare balance between comfort and authenticity. Throughout our stay, the food was consistently enjoyable, and the staff regularly checked in - present without being intrusive, attentive without overwhelming. A highlight for us as a family was Mzima Springs. Our little boy absolutely loved it, and seeing his excitement made the visit even more memorable. All in all, Kilaguni Serena Lodge is ideal for a quiet weekend away. It is peaceful, scenic, and deeply restorative. The convenience of getting there via the SGR makes it even better. I would definitely return, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to slow down, reconnect with nature, and be genuinely well cared for.

Personal beim Check In sehr demotiviert, Pool war geschlossen da renoviert wurde. Buffet Essen sehr primitiv her gerichtet. Keine Fliegennetze vor der Terassentüre und keine Klima im Zimmer, dementsprechend sehr heiß in der Nacht da man nicht lüften kann!

Absolutely unbelievable location. The experience of watching 30 elephants cavorting in a waterhole only 50m away from your balcony or the bar is beyond words. Superb facilities, great food and helpful staff too!

lors de ma réservation en juillet l'information sur la fermeture de la piscine n'était pas indiqué et j'aurai aimé que l'hôtel me laisse un message en aout quand ils ont su que la piscine allait être fermé pendant notre séjour! peut-être j'aurai fait un autre choix, par rapport à cette prestation et au prix

Kilaguni Lodge was an amazing experience. Other reviews were correct when they said the animals come to you, you can just spend all day sat watching the animals, the views are incredible. Our room was beautiful and had a view of the watering hole. Overall, very comfortable, I could have stayed forever. All of the members of staff were incredible; they could not do enough for us. I got sick while staying here and was able to see a nurse and get medication without any trouble. Food was incredible and diverse.

Safari experience was not as good as other national park locations in Kenya, mainly due to the landscape and restrictions they have, but the springs were well worth the visit alone! The swimming pool was still under renovation when we stayed, which was disappointing, but this is set to open soon. The addition of a gym or other activities would be of benefit for those taking longer stays. Cost of drinks was a little high and nothing included in the cost (everything was extra)
