Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

Absolutely everything was perfect. I visited at the end of a few weeks travelling, and was here to relax. I mostly spent my time on my balcony watching wildlife pass me by! It was absolutely perfect! So calm and relaxing, and just so surreal to see an elephant as you're sipping a g&t!!! The food was great, and all the staff were so attentive (special thanks to David K for giving me the perfect table at dinner!).I did 2 game drives, and although we didn't see too much, there was always something that made it special.

It would have been useful to have been told that I needed to purchase a pass to get into the Reserve, as would have made entry into the park a little smoother,

Perfect location with an amazing view to the nature. The water hole in front of the lodge was always full of animals. Very kind and polite staff. Our favorite waitress was the beautiful Liliana! Thanks her for taking care of us!

Too much insects in the evening. A moschito net would be good against them. No aircondition in the rooms.

Lot of insects during dinner, but that's not an easy one to solve as there are no windows :) very dark also in restaurant, so we might have eaten some bugs without knowing :-)

The food was exceptional across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The property itself is well-landscaped and the watering hole view from the dining area was magnificent. We did most of the activities that you can do on such a trip: game drives, sundowners, massages, swimming, etc. Last but not least, the staff was amazing throughout our stay and ready to help at any given moment. Highly recommend for a serene getaway for a couple.

I imagine there's not much they can do about this but our first night, dining was a bit of a mess as we had to fight off a bunch of insects that kept interrupting our meal (I felt the staff handled this well) - not a terrible thing but something to be aware of, particularly during a rainy season. The property is historic but likely due some upgrades such as air conditioning in the rooms. All-in-all, these things wouldn't ruin your stay but would definitely make it much better.

Incredible safari lodge with a water hole out back to attract animals. Beautiful rooms, a gorgeous restaurant and bar area, top notch service and food, and plenty of history to boot. They even washed my car for me overnight!

The location and view is good

The hotel is old. Rooms are very tired. No fridge in ours. Bathroom tap broken so cold water doesn’t work. A lot of bugs (understand this is difficult to control but balcony door lets bugs into room and holes in the mosquito net so bugs in the bed). A staff member walked into our room when we were in there without knocking and another one woke us up early by knocking on the wrong room. Yet no housekeeping was done during our stay (no turn down service).
