Hotel Alpenruh

The staff was as helpful and kind as possible. They were exceedingly friendly. It was helpful that the restaurant was open since I prefer to travel during slightly off peak seasons to avoid crowds. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Since many restaurants in the area were closed I had to eat here numerous times. Each time the food was good and I tried something new every day. The outside balcony had a much better view of the mountains than I expected. It was my first time in the country so I feel like I got lucky with this hotel. The view was so nice I was ok when I just stayed in the hotel. The breakfast was clean and organized. The setting was nice and calm. However, the staff made the hotel great. Everyone had a positive attitude.

On a rainy Saturday, check-in time was too late, but the hotel kindly supported me. Despite the rain, it was still a beautiful sight and hotel. It's my second stay at this hotel. I have a plan to stay again next time.

The staff was very friendly at the hotel . The hotel was very clean! I was a little put off by how noisy the area was. Construction noise started first thing every morning. My room was located close to the restaurant. A couple of nights, there was so much noise coming from the restaurant ( 2 am), it woke me up. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the lady that tended to the buffet was very friendly! I had a rude experience at the restaurant one evening. I had previously come in the night before without a reservation but the night afterwards was told they were closed unless I had a reservation. At 7 pm ? I counted 9 empty tables. I was not even given a chance to order take away. It was obvious they did not want my business! I walked up the street and found a wonderful place that was willing to serve me and TAKE MY MONEY!

Great place, Amazing Fondue and beautiful wine, the staff was outstanding!

We especially appreciated the people who work there at the front desk and in the restaurant. Great breakfast! Don’t like the duvets. When they mention village view, it may mean no view at all. Very convenient place for North Face trail and the cable car from Gimmelwald. Also Schilthorn. It’s all the way through town from the train station.

Lovely hotel, slightly dated in places, within very easy walking distance of the cable car. Excellent staff and service.
