DON'T BE FOOLED. The Folly Hotel is closed, they are renting out old staff rooms, the rooms look nothing like the images, there are no staff on hand, they clean only where they think you will look mold on the windows holes in the walls and so much more

The communication from the hotel was great and they were speedy to reply. It’s very confidently located close to the station and a short walk from lots of cafes and shops. It also has a great view of the beach. The room was comfy (we slept amazingly) and there was a generous amount of snacks awaiting.

Our main concern was the cleanliness of the bathroom. We noticed lots of dust and a build up of gunk around the shower. We also noticed that sometimes the water in the tap ran murky.

The location was excellent and the room was spotlessly clean. There was a good basket of goodies & the mini fridge was a great help. The beds were very comfortable & the heating was good. We would return.

The stairs to the rooms are quite steep,which we were not warned about, and there was no information in the room about either the rest of thd building or the local área. Also, there was no hairdryer and only 1 regular teabag (not decaff). The provision of electrical sockets is a bit random, it is not possible to have both bedside lights on at the double bed. & the single bed does not have a bedside light.

Budget Airbnb style room at higher than budget prices. Room was fine. Space maximised, clean and quite comfortable.

No facilities apart from the room. Breakfast box wasn’t replenished despite the fact we were there for 3 night.

Self check-in double room with en-suite shower, internet, TV & kettle with basics for making a continental breakfast. Convenient, friendly, fuss-free - great value for an off-peak break.

The stairs could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues - not a problem for us.

Location was perfect as very close to train station. The breakfast/food provided exceeded our expectation and was extremly thoughthful. I would definitely book this hotel again if I was in the area.
