Shangri-La Guilin

This was our 20th anniversary holiday trip and also my wife's birthday. The hotel staff did all possible to make our stay superb and unforgettable. Everything was to perfection. The staff in the executive lounge were the best we ever met. The facilities were spotless clean and functional and the good old Shangri-La was shining with style and elegance to make us feel like in paradise. We had an exquisite birthday dinner in the Chinese restaurant and the food was outstanding. At the end of the meal the staff surprised us with a birthday cake and candles for my wife. The food and drink selection and quality in the lounge was first class. Dishes changed every day, and the famous local Guilin noodles were freshly hand made by a chef. Heavenly!!! The location is perfect and the view over the Shangri-La garden/park and the river onto the mystic Karst formation priceless. The rooms were spotless clean and comfortable, elegant and spacious. This was one of the very best hotel stays in our extensive travel experience. Surely we will come back soon. Thank you to all wonderful people at Shangri-La that made us very happy. We want to thank MS Anne the General Manager, who came to see us in the lounge, for her kindness and excellent management of the staff and functions. Our special thanks for all-time best care, friendliness and service go to Daisy (you are the very BEST), Juliet, Hugo and the second young man in the lounge (sorry we did not catch your name correctly, Daisy pls. let him know) We hope to see you all again soon. That we had to leave so soon and could not stay longer!

The staff were awesome. I am Australian and my wife is Chinese. She was born in Guilin. We were visiting my wife’s family in Guilin. This is the second time we have stayed here and this trip was just as awesome as the first one. The hotel staff are all friendly right down to the cleaners. The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable. I don’t eat western food when I’m in China but they cater for all nationalities. The restaurant is top class and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
