Brisbane House Hotel

Pros, Hotel is lovely, stunning decor,with beautiful views providing stunning photo opportunities. Nice enough food but small portions little veg. Cons, Bar Staff seemed annoyed to the point of rude at being asked for drinks, kept closing bars and not opening others for 40 mins. Day felt unorganised as a result. DJ was odd. I would NOT recommend as a wedding venue does not provide value for money. But the main thing was the Bride and Groom had a brilliant day.

40th anniversary and celebrating Hogmanay booked the honeymoon suite for a surprise for my wife arrived she was over the moon got shown the room had a jacuzzi , steam room upstairs downstairs 4 free cocktails balcony with loungers place was stunning but the room was frozen went downstairs to ask the reception to turn the heating on she said it was on. Asked someone to come up and show us how to work all the gadgets they did have of it wasn’t working also told her the room was still cold she said she would fix it paid £430 for the night I’m just a normal working man so that was a lot of money to me for one special night had to go down to bar with friends until the room heated up bar was warm went back up room still frozen phoned receptionist she told me to turn radiator up. I said it’s up it’s fullest and the radiator is cold Back down to bar to cold to stay in room would have went home but we had had a drink couldn’t drive and stayed 40 miles away and had booked hogmany ball £75 a ticket went to ball and asked reception to make sure room was heated for going back when ball finished It was still frozen by this time staff had all left nobody to ask about heating wasn’t happy wanted a refund next day general manager was on annual leave had to wait till end of January before she would answer us back Said she’d get a refund that day never heard from her again until we emailed her a week later and she replied head office can’t justify given us a refund. But they will give us a free overnight stay in one of the smaller rooms which cost about £260 I think a night we refused stating we want a refund. The about 2 weeks later they offered us the same room or £100 voucher still refused wanted a refund so got on to the credit card company to complain and asked them to organise a charge back but they were hopeless it was like talking to dumb and dummer so Brisbane house got back saying they would refund 3/4 of the total bill which was £288 I think ,we just took it because this was like 3 months later and couldn’t be bothered any more So I’ll not be back there again and. The way they dealt with it was shocking £430 was a lot of money for me and it was a big disaster for a special night so would avoid this place at all costs

didn’t like the time for breakfast 7am till 9am ! I think when people are having a holiday they like to have a ly in ! 7am till 10 am would probably suit most people then checkout @ 11am ??

Amazing location looking over the water. Beautiful modern decor. Staff were great.
