Buggy & personal drivers: Jair, Luis, Jordi - excellent conversations & property knowledge.

Cello Breakfast & Buffet: Martin, Montserrat, Mayfare, Jennifer, Miguel Escalante, Luis Mena, Qeibi (? spelling) - always smiling, incredibly helpful, pure delight.
Cello dinner: Miguel, Maritess, Fidel - excellent service & genuine conversations.
In Villa Dinner Dining: David, Chef Fernando (Aug.22nd) SUPERB. Grilling outdoors in that July heat & humidity is not for the weak. I offered a cold towel to both of them. They were so gracious and their attitudes professional from beginning to end. The most delicious Surf & Turf Menu.
Gift Shop/Gallery: Valeria - pure sunshine. My husband and I walked into the gallery as resort guests and left friends because of her genuine warmth. She complimented my "good energy" but it's hers that leaves a lasting impression.
Pool: Abraham, Julio - professional and helpful despite the heat & humidity
Other: Chef, and Kitchen Manager (always dressed in black) at Cello (Luis?) - preparing rice for us & presenting delicious desserts of chocolate ice cream & flan, a thoughtful gesture for a minor mishap that is completely irrelevant compared to their outstanding service.
HIGHLIGHT:
Let me share this, as Asians we love our rice. We are proudly THAT stereotype. By day 2 my husband needed it. This was our first full day here and we decided to enjoy the breakfast buffet at Cello. I was surprised to not see any rice on the menu being an Asian owned and themed property in Mexico. Not expecting anything, I asked the Manager (dressed in all black) Luis, in my horrible Spanish, if rice was available. Maybe I overlooked it somewhere on the buffet line. He kindly said no and that was that. No big deal. But a few minutes later, he comes to our table to ask if we'd still like rice, if so, it would be about 10 minutes. Waiting in anticipation, he came back with two piping hot bowls of freshly made white rice. My husband and I did not expect for the kitchen staff to make us fresh rice. I didn't know what to expect honestly. We were floored. And to top it all off, the rice was delicious! It wasn't just water, rice, and cook - the flavor was GOOD. What's more outstanding is that with every breakfast visit thereafter, the staff anticipated our off menu rice order and always delivered. I CRY over this gesture and thoughtfulness.
DINING:
SIGNATURE SAFFRON is very tasty and the servings are generous. Entrees are definitely sharing friendly.
CELLO BREAKFAST: delicious menu. The complimentary bread and spread basket is very generous. Our faves are the hotcakes, chilaquiles, and lox croissant sandwich.
CELLO BREAKFAST BUFFET, weekends only: Wonderful options. Fresh fruits, entrees with local flavors, continental items, & a great selection of breads, desserts, juices.
CELLO DINNER: Wonderful. Dined outdoors with the sunset as the main character. Octopus ceviche (?) & white wine mussels are a must!
POOLSIDE DINING is superb. Ceviche, the burger and fries, and the best ranch dip ever paired with the Acapulco sunset is such a vibe.
IN ROOM DINING menu is extensive and perfect for days when you don't want to leave the air condition of your villa. We ordered dessert nearly every night. Ice creams are made in house - the chocolate ice cream is superb.
IN ROOM BAR has a great variety of snacks, drinks, alcohol, coffee, tea. Also, a fresh fruit basket greets you at the dining table.
VILLA: The Bay View Villa
itself is just as pictured online. Clean, safe, and beautiful. I am a serious sleeper and take my bed, beddings, pillows serious. With all honesty, the bed here is the most comfortable bed I have ever dreamed on. I attempted to lift up the fitted sheet to find out what brand it was! My husband stopped me. Boooo.
I would say the soaking tub is good for one person or two smaller people. It isn't as private - there is a pulldown shade for privacy from the neighboring villa.
The cabana would benefit highly with a built in ceiling fan for hot summer days like we experienced: 93F felt like 108F with humidity at 86% and very little breeze. Toiletries are above and beyond from the standard exclusive Banyan Tree brand shampoo & conditioner, to umbrellas, indoor & outdoor slippers, bath salts, feminine products, insecticide, and even bug repellent.
TURN OVER SERVICE in the evening consisted of rose petals to cute trinkets that differed each night.
OVERALL:
100/10. The kindness and superior hospitality from EVERYONE here should be individually celebrated and recognized. As a frequent traveler and from a tourist driven city, genuine customer service is a lost art nearly everywhere. Banyan Tree Marques sets a very high bar and can only be met with always going above and beyond.
Congratulations on the reopening of this BT property. It would be a shame for such a beautiful location go to waste. We hope to visit again soon. - Mr & Mrs Chan
