The Ironwood

I stayed in Unit 105. Apartment is spacious, clean and has a nice view. Kitchen is well equipped. Towels are abundant. Beds are comfortable but sofa bed is not so good. Though reception is not in Ironwood, I could easily contacted Whiski Jack's customer service and sought out problems. I reported my kettle was out of order and early next morning, its' staff sent me a new one. Unit 105 though got a nice view of Blackcomb, it's too close to the jacuzzi & BBQ area(just in front of my balcony). People in jacuzzi could easily look into my unit through the big glass window. And we had to close the blind almost all the time(that means I could not enjoy the scenery). Worst of all, on the 1st night during my day, a group of people(7-8) was doing BBQ, drinking and soaking in jacuzzi in the evening. Even after its closure(10:00pm), they still chatting and drinking in jacuzzi. Only some time after 10:30pm that they were gone. Higher floor should have no such problem.

Had a great stay. Check in was offsite but not far. Loved all the space for my family of four. We walked to the bus stop just one stop from the Village. Wish we stayed longer.

We have stayed in Whistler village many time, this time decided to book this place a bit further - 25 minute walk, 10 minutes by bicycle in to the village. The view from Unit 305 is amazing. We had fantastic weather so the view of Blackcomb Mountain was incredible from sitting on the couch, bedroom & deck. Unit had everything we needed for our three night stay. Clean and very roomy. Check-in was at a different location 5 minutes away - no front desk at condo building. Lay by the pool one afternoon after riding our bikes into town for groceries. Excellent bike trails start right near by. Next time we will definitely stay longer. The only complaint was the BBQs on the pool deck - dirty and very precarious propane tank ignition.

Excellent place!!! Very clean and has an absolutely incredible view!

Close to everything lots of room.

We chose to be outside the village, hoping for a quieter stay over the long weekend, and this property delivered. We were able to enjoy the open layout, the well stocked kitchen, and the nearby cycling trails. Loved the convenient bike storage, luggage carts to carry everything to the suite, and having two bedrooms at a fraction of the price (and noise) of a stay in the village, only 5 minutes drive away. We will stay here again.

The location was nice, right where the 6 bus stops, so an easy 5 min bus ride from the base of the mountain. The hot tub was great and the size of our condo was nice. Nice fireplace too. The check in was a little confusing. You don’t actually check in at the condo, you have to go somewhere else... we were able to end up checking in over the phone, but we had to do a lot of walking around the condo to figure out we couldn’t check in there.. otherwise great

The ironwood decided that the two people in my party only needed 1 bed for two people not the 2 bedrooms I had reserved. I report d their mistake immediately and they were unwilling to fix it. After what seemed like 100 phone calls with home away and whiski jack themselves I was placed in a different hotel. Home away customer service was one of the worst travel experiences I have ever endured. Both parties whiskinjack and home away were unwilling to help the customer out. Each time I called I had to start my case completely over. The customer service ranged from incompetent to rude. They screwed up my booking and we’re inwilling to help me out: I had 5 people stay in a 1 bedroom hotel because they are incapable of implementing any sort of practical solution if it cost their company a any money. If there were 0 stars they would get it. I would never recommend whiskinjack. Ever. I would also never wish any customer to ever have to deal with home away customer serve’ice. They are perhaps the biggest joke in the industry

Great place, not in Whistler Village, but a nice getaway

Let's start with the good. The staff were very friendly and we were able to check in early.We were happy with the amount of space and the air conditioning offered in each room. The room had everything we needed, blankets, towels etc. The pool was very great and it had a fantastic view of the mountains. The games room was being worked on but our kids still enjoyed table tennis. Cons We were not happy that we were charged in USD even though we are Canadian. Being charged in USD was not disclosed until after we had submitted a non refundable payment that we were going to be charged USD. Therefore we ended up paying 35% more for the accommodations. VRBO told us that this was the fault of the owner but we still believe that VRBO needs to provide cleared currency information prior to check out. There was construction noise during the day but that does tend to happen as maintenance is necessary. In the past when I have stayed at VRBO's there have been some cooking items, oil, salt and pepper etc. However this place had everything you needed to eat with and cook with but did not have anything left over from prior guests (this might be because the entire building is owned by Whiski Jack?). No view Microwave didn't work - rotation function no longer works. Overall we had a good time but we ended up paying too much for an older place without a view.
