Guests highly rate the location and frequently praise the breakfast options.
CA1 minute walk to the Alamo. 6 minutes to the river walk. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great selection of coffee and tea in the room. Original hard wood floor in the room. Very charming.
Couldn't get the heat to work. It was cold in the room, and even when putting the system on heat, it kept getting colder. I didn't feel like changing rooms, so I didn't cal the front desk. We just turned it off, and the room warmed up gradually. 62 degrees when we turned it off, and it was 69 when we woke up. Perfect sleeping temperature.
US
USAlmost everything.
The room was pretty small and did not have a chest of drawers. So, we had to work out of our luggage.
US
USThe staff was all super friendly and helpful from the really nice lady at the front desk to the valet to the staff in the breakfast area. The hotel was very iconic and historic and well appointed. It was within walking distance to everything so we could just park the car and not worry about parking in the city. The Alamo is steps away and the RiverWalk is a short distance away. We attended a concert at the Tobin Center which was also a short walk away. Very nice stay!
The noise from the construction around the hotel was a bit of a bother but there is nothing that the hotel could do about that.
NLToplocatie en zeer goed ontbijt.
Parkeren was lastig. En er was een verbouwing gaande op straat dus veel herrie.
USWonderful breakfast, wine tasting, best location for the money, nicely renovated, comfortable room and beds, but small.
High priced parking but similar to rest of city with valet, lots of construction around the building. No view from room - only walls of building but huge windows.
USGreat location
I like the property.
USLocation and overall quality
Pros: large windows and plenty of natural light. Wood floors and historic charm. Location is easily walkable, but there are also plenty of other hotels to choose from. Cons: Our room had an odd smell and it was dirty and there were a used Q tip and a dirty glove under the bathroom vanity. The shower and sink had someone else’s hair on them and the bathroom sink was clogged. The flooring was dirty - which made sense why someone’s trash was missed below the vanity. The air vents were filthy. Bedding was clean. The construction noise starts before 6 AM, so request a room away from the Alamo side. The staff was cordial but the service was nothing impressive and they were not very accommodating. My car was with the valet for more than a day, and was returned with ants covering the inside. I wouldn’t consider staying with Hotel Gibbs again in the future.
