Gilpin Hotel & Lake House

Beautiful location and the room was lovely. Spice restaurant was fantastic, great ambience, great food and service. We wish we had dined here both nights

The service really wasn’t at the right level for the standard of the property and the price point. I even responded to the hotel survey after our stay explaining some of the issues and our disappointment and never received a response. It felt very much like the staff didn’t care

What didn’t we like??? Absolutely superb !

I especially enjoyed peace and quietness around the property. Nature around is amazing. Facilities are fantastic especially in spa suites.

Bathroom was quite old and will need refurbishment. Bar should be complimentary for this price.

The restaurants were too fine dinning for me , I have bland taste so had to drive into town to buy fish and chips Other hotels I stay at have the spa with no additional cost so I was put off when I asked if there was a charge for using the facilities The customer car park had lots of pot holes when we arrived on Wednesday that said we did see someone filling them in on Thursday afternoon

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful location. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We had a spacious room with a large window seat. Loved the bathroom towels which were big and very thick. The bar and dining areas are very inviting. Great breakfast, cooked to order. Wish we were staying longer!

This is an amazing hotel. Friendly staff, wonderful restaurant and menu. We loved everything about this hotel. We would highly recommend it. It is also a short drive to Windermere and Bowness too.
