Full of character

Had asked for a room with easy access & got a room on second floor & wash basin 6” from shower door so extremely difficult to squeeze into the shower. My husband couldn’t use the facilities as he had a broken back. Lack of water also made showering difficult.

The location suited our trip.

The toilet was full of waste on our arrival and had not been cleaned. The hotel gave us an alternative room. The hot water did not work on second night in the alternative room.

Small and dirty room that wasn’t cleaned properly even after pointing out the nail clippings left on the floor. Little or no hot water in the morning. When complained that one morning was so cold I was unable to have a shower, was told the hotel was busy and there wasn’t enough hot water. Not even a drink on the house! They’d probably run out of that too. Cant believe this hotel has 4 stars, it is a poor 3 star at best. Wouldn’t recommend, there are many better cleaner places with hot water locally.

Lovely old property. Lots of atmosphere

No parking but understand it is in a high street so not really possible. Had to park quite a walk away over night
