This hotel is advertised as a 3 star plus. I believe it barely made it to a 3 star on many things. Positives, and there are a few; Pools were quiet, calm and very family friendly for all ages Plenty of sun beds across each of the pools Rooms are very basic but are clean Rooms get serviced everyday Towels and sheets get changed every other day. Air conditioning in room (but struggles to cool air) Fridges in the rooms Grounds - flowers and trees are overall well kept Areas of disappointment; Rooms are dated - some very dated. Beds are very hard Pillows are lumpy No kettle (you have to pay 5 euro just for the hire of a kettle alone) Poolside lounger tables often had bit of rubbish for a few days Poolside was not hosed down during our entire stay Some parasols were broke Food; This really lets the hotel down. Quality is poor and choice is exceptionally limited. There are a few daily staples such as chips or pizza but we did not seem food themed each day. Food is unlabelled and it's all a bit of chance and a guessing game. There is usually two meat dishes, a fish and then something like pizza or spaghetti. It appears that some foods are a reheat from the evening before. That being said, they have fresh bread and feta cheese so that is always a safe staple dinner. Dessert choice is ice cream or one other choice of the day. Food often appeared over cooked, dry or low cost meat cuts/quality. Restaurant and bar staff work hard but they are often short staffed and this permeates the environment. Find yourself shouting about for your own cutlery, dusting off a used table before yo use it or enjoy the restaurant staff shouting across each other giving it a non relaxed vibe. Bar drinks and cocktails are far cheaper outside the hotel. This hotel can only be booked half board basis and believe me, look for an alternative if you want to go half board as the food really is not Cretan quality The bar drinks and cocktails are also far cheaper outside of the hotel in many other bars along the main front bars and restaurants. However, if you're happy with limited choice and don't mind cheap cuts of meat or reheated food the. This will work well. I'm told the hotel changed hands in 2023. It appears that the hotel is really financially holding back on adequate staffing or food and maximising on profits and that's ok but for us it appears to be a hotel that is and will be in steady decline.

The star rating matches the service here: friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a location that’s perfect for what you need at the price you pay. The hotel makes brilliant use of food, ensuring nothing goes to waste and finding creative ways to use leftovers, it’s like watching a Greek episode of MasterChef! Rooms are clean, tidy, and decorated in charming traditional Greek style. The mattress was a touch on the firm side, but nothing that stopped us from sleeping well after long sunny days. Our only (completely unserious) complaint? The tragic absence of hashbrowns at breakfast. We may start a petition… or at least bring our own next time! 😄 Would happily stay again.

Our maisonette was huge. Towels and bedding changed frequently but the floors were not swept meaning sandy beds a few days. I would happily of brushed them had there been a brush. The aircon upstairs was brilliant. Downstairs was ancient and needs replacing. The cover actually fell of the wall onto my daughters bed! Breakfast was better earlier on around 9ish. You cpukd always get a sunbed too which is a bonus. Bar prices were similar to town and snack menu was good. It was a little too far out for us though but on the flipside it offered peace and quiet.

Night reception didn't know where rooms were so took us the longest, most complicated way to the rooms. Once there rooms were on different floors. Front door would only shut if slammed. Nice breakfast, plenty of sun loungers. Pool was clean and great temperature

We arrived late at the Anastasia and were offered fruit and sandwiches which was welcome as we needed to find our bearings. The rooms were quite spacious, a little dated but clean and cheerful and the free air con was a boon especially as the temperature was in the high thirties most days. Plenty to do in the hotel grounds including five a side football pitch, table tennis, mini golf and basketball as well as three swimming pools. Ten minute walk to Stalis main strip and the beautiful beach which was fine for our little group. The food was tasty and there was always something to satisfy our party, pizza and pasta always available along with chips, rice and roast potatoes alongside more traditional Greek food. Breakfasts were also well catered for with eggs, bacon and sausages always on offer along with beans, fried tomatoes and the tastiest mushrooms. The evening entertainment was canny too with quizzes and bingo, karaoke and music nights. All in all we were pleasantly surprised especially after some poor reviews and could not really complain about anything.

We arrived at around 11.30pm and were greeted at reception by the lovely staff. We were given sandwiches to take to our room and shown around the hotel. The bedroom was a great size and our balcony was huge and ground floor which was perfect for my son. The bed was rock hard and I heard lots of people complaining about this however it didn’t bother me at all. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price for us. I don’t personally eat breakfast however my son didn’t enjoy much of the breakfast food (he is a fussy eater). Dinner had loads of different options, something for everyone however we did eat out most nights as I love to try new restaurants on holiday. The food at lunch from the pool bar was lovely and reasonably priced. There was three pools, mini golf, basketball and football at the hotel as well. We stayed around the main pool. You always got a sunbed together (no sunbed wars). Stalis centre is about a 10 minute walk away, however there is lots of shops and restaurants on your way in. We went to the beach three times and I would definitely recommend cutting through Ikaros Hotel (adult only) to get to the beach it is much closer than walking into the centre. The water is really shallow far out on the beach perfect for children. You can get fresh fruit on the beach and huge donuts. The staff at the hotel were all lovely and very accommodating when we needed to keep the room for an extra day due to a late flight home. We got the bus into Agios Nikolas one day as well and the bus stop was a 2 minute walk away from the hotel! Honestly it was an amazing holiday and I will definitely be coming back to Stalis. I will be staying at the Anastasia hotel again as it perfectly located as it is quiet and not surrounded by bars and nightlife like the others in the centre.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were satisfying — good quality and generous portions, especially considering the price, which I found very fair. A special thanks to Ahmet for his warm and professional hospitality. He was incredibly helpful and friendly, and spoke perfect Italian, English, and Greek — which made everything much easier and more enjoyable. I definitely recommend this hotel to other Italian travelers looking for a well-priced, comfortable stay with great service and tasty food. I would gladly return!

Will start with the pros of our holiday as it wasn’t all negative but could have been a lot better . Firstly the grounds are beautiful and very clean . Within the hotel grounds there was never any litter. The staff worked really hard , the waiters were absolutely fantastic - they entertain the kids at mealtime and George helped us throughout our stay . The pools were always clean we mainly spent our time down at the quieter pool as the baby pool was perfect depth and warmth for our babies . Cons Rooms were extremely dated- found it difficult to get out of our room on a couple of occasions . They really need to update to the fob system . The rooms weren’t cleaned daily - we asked the maids to come back and they didn’t . Under the beds were filthy only know this as my child dropped her dummy on a few occasions . The balconies are small to be expected though . Food This is where the hotel really let itself down . Even breakfast we found it difficult to find something to eat . However we had contacted the hotel before we travelled advising and asking if they could cater for allergies which they said they could . We ended up eating out a lot , there was very minimal dishes and the one night we did eat in even though consulting with staff with regards to what she could eat our child had an allergic reaction . The food quality was poor both breakfast and evening . However if you paid for lunch it was nice and decent portions ! We wouldn’t return to this hotel due to its location . No lift so not practical for families up and down stairs with a pram and lots of luggage , and also the food quality.
