Anastasia Hotel Stalis

This is our 3rd time in this hotel once 10 years ago,once last year and once this year. Unfortunately this year we found the room a little unbareable as we just couldnt seem to get it at right temp with air con. The beds were much harder than I ever remember and didnt get one decent sleep. Which in turn had an effect on during the day...plus side a great kids club and lovely lady that runs it. My son absolutely loved it at age 3..not sure how it would be for older kids. It was 2 euro a day and I would go back to the hotel just for this. She also did kids disco at night which my son also enjoyed. It has a small kids pool which I thought was perfect for youngsters poss under 5's. Onto the food...I think its gone downhill since previous times. Had the occasional good breakfastbut some things seemed a bit dry/old and coffee was horrible. My partner noticed marks on some dishes. I enjoyed some night time food but did get a bit of an iffy tummy a couple of days and nothing on days I didnt eat at hotel. Dont know for sure the cause though. Most of the staff are nice and surroundings are lovely. It would be amazing if rooms got an upgrade to make them more comfortable. I would stay here again though if the price was cheap which there does seem to be good prices at times. The kids club for a 3 year old made it worth it for us.

We found the hotel disappointing. We never complain but on this holiday was just the little things .the lack of standard drinking water .the machine was available in morning but evening a towel was covering it .I thought it was ridiculous as surly people are allowed water .we wanted diet coke out of vending machine but didn't work as they wanted us to go by drinks from bar and didn't want anything from bar .the experience wasn't are best food was very basic not much variety compared to all other places we have stayed .lack of desert no fruit .would not stay again

When we arrived we had missed evening dinner so we were offered a cheese sandwich which was very dry and seemed like it wasn’t very fresh and an apple. It would have been good to have a choice (if you didn’t eat cheese). We have never paid for our drinks anywhere else where we’ve been half board and not even to have an option of water is very poor. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was clean though we thought we were getting a double bed but infact what we got was two single beds pushed together and sheets that doesn’t fit across both. Paying extras for the gym, children club and other activities makes the holidays even more expensive.

Crappy hotel sad rooms untidy linen bathrooms are so old and don’t even have basic shower The staff at hotel are like people working in a government run facility they don’t care about customer service but just do bare minimum to get through their shift Super sad breakfast shame to Greek cuisine

My friend and I have just returned from a 5 night holiday here and had a great time. First timers to Crete and wouldn’t hesitate returning to Anastasia. Friendly staff, clean environment, HB food was excellent and plentiful with adequate choice. Free aircon which is a rarity nowadays! I have included a few tips below which may help you. The strongest advice I can give is do not book with TUI or First Choice and use Jet2. We needed the urgent help of a rep during our holiday (nothing to do with the hotel) and we had horrendous issues trying to speak with someone from First Choice. No FC rep allocated to the hotel, no mobile number and only a UK call centre number. In contrast Jet2 have a rep who visits the hotel daily and there is a mobile number for her on the info board. You’ve been warned ! Tips : - No cups in the rooms so maybe bring a couple of plastic beakers for water/teeth brushing and travel kettle if required. - Out of hotel and turn left for Stallis, 20 min walk, use shortcut rear gates at Sentido Kyknos Hotel, gate will be locked, reach hand through railings and use handle on inside to open easily. - Nearest beach 10 mins away head towards Malia and walk through Kernos Beach Hotel rather than around it as Google Map suggests! €10 for 2 beds and umbrella. Lovely beach - Request a room on high floor if you’d like a view and sun, all ground floor rooms face onto buildings, not great but we found it was too hot to sit on balcony so no issues. - Book with Jet2 !!!

We got back from a family holiday here last week, 4 adults 2 children. Firstly reception staff friendly and helpful. Rooms could really do with an upgrade, our tv was probably older than me. However they did have everything you needed in the room, plenty of storage for clothes and a good shower. Beds were hard though. Rooms were cleaned everyday, the cleaners were really nice. Pool area was lovely and enough beds for everyone, pool bar staff were great. Although advertised there were no kids club the whole week we were there, no entertainment at all for children. Restaurant was small so not a lot of choice for food however we found something to eat every night. Waiter’s friendly, I would recommend they get more choice for desserts and sprinkles etc for the icecream. The location of this hotel is sort of in the middle of no where and it is a good 25 minute walk into Stalis. Taxis aren’t cheap either (€15 for a 6 seater, under 10min drive). Overall I would recommend this hotel if you don’t mind walking and would like a good cheap base for your holiday. Would definitely benefit from a few changes and room upgrades.

Never have I seen a more terrible and shady place. The building is a 100 years old with furniture even older. There are no eating options except fixed meals in a dingy room they call a restaurant. There are no lifts, no assistance with luggage and no basic amenities in the room like water. The refrigerator and AC were broken and are so old that the last service men capable of fixing them died probably in 1980. They have put a small fish tank masquerading as a swimming pool. Terrible and must avoid

Enjoyed our stay here at the anastasia, very hot and many sunbeds to go around. Lovely room with sea views, reception staff very helpful from arriving to leaving, very friendly and couldnt do enough for you, nice beach bar and choice of pools, we will return again, thanks again from dave and susan room 512 xx

We had a 10 night stay here at this lovely hotel. Our room was lovely with an amazing view. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the main street of Stalis. The food had good choice. We would return.

Fantastic place. A little walk to the main strip/road but we knew that before booking. But this place is a little gem. Alot bigger then it looks. The staff was amazing. Always smiling and very helpful. Every one of the staff we met was very pleasant. Room was clean. Towels and bedding changed regular. Rooms tidied for us every day. Wasn't expecting this for the price. The staff also managed to accommodate us for our late night pickup and let us keep the room till 1 hour before (11pm)
