Homewood Suites by Hilton South Bend Notre Dame Area

We've stayed at this hotel on 4 occasions. I gave the first stay a pass due to it being opening weekend and there being kinks to work out. On the second stay, we experienced a cleanliness issue with our room, but the front desk as quick to move us to a clean room. The third stay was fine, nothing extraordinary, but fine enough to where I would stay again if the price was right. This brings me to our December stay. We experienced an issue where the front desk went unoccupied for over 45 minutes. There were no staff member in sight to check in guests that were needing to check in. It got to the point that we were all concerned that something had happened to the staff. 3-4 staff member finally showed up at the front desk, smelling as though they all just escaped to a room for some recreational "fun." Safety is of utmost important to me. Leaving a front desk unmanned put everyone in the hotel at a safety risk. I would never stay at this hotel again and would caution anyone considering staying here. I could go on further about management's lack of response and complete disregard for the sharing of personal information of other guests via email.

We were told breakfast started at 7:00 am. That person didn’t show up for work so we had to wait until 8:00 to get something to eat. Then the waffle maker was broken. We were on a schedule and thus was very disturbing

The staff was nice

The staff was very nice and available for any questions or concerns. The hotel was very clean, quiet and very homey. Good amount of parking and breakfast was better than what we were expecting. Very family friendly, I have a 19 month old. The self serve laundry room was a plus too! Accidents are bound to happen with toddlers. Will consider staying again!

Large room, dishwasher, kitchen, clean, comfortable, excellent location to Notre Dame, shopping, dining. Friendly and accommodating staff.

I enjoyed our stay very much. However, the 1st room we checked into the heat didnt seem to work well, so we were moved to a different room and that room, the hot water didnt seem to get very hot. I had to take a really quick shower and so did my husband. Otherwise the stay was nice. D.J.
