Homewood Suites by Hilton South Bend Notre Dame Area

We arrived at 10pm only to find that our room was either not cleaned or given to someone else. Currently we are staying in a room with a portal ac unit that is doing nothing and box fans. Probably one of the worst experiences ever.

Everything about the room was awesome. It was clean and modern. One TV in each area, everything was really nice. The only downside was the service checking in wasn't great.

I liked the location

The room I booked wasn’t available and I had to stay in a different room then my children. I wasn’t made aware of my room not being available until my card was charged and I was refused a refund…

The staff was very helpful and sincere.

I stayed here because it is close to my daughter and her family. My daughter had surgery, so I came for seven nights to help her and my son in law with their children. I was so disappointed in my stay this visit. Day one (surgery morning), I went down to grab a quick breakfast from the lobby: just a bagel with peanut butter. It was the most stale bagel ever and too tough to eat. I went and bought my own groceries to eat in my room after that. A waste of money for “complimentary breakfast “. My housekeeping after three days left me no coffee, so after a 15 hour day at my daughter’s house, I had to go to the lobby and ask for coffee for the next morning. Three days after that, housekeeping had never returned, so I went down to get fresh towels and speak to someone about the neglect. The front desk proceeded to hold me hostage by “not making excuses “, but telling me why they were having trouble getting the rooms cleaned. I was exhausted and just wanted to shower and sleep. She said they only provide housekeeping every three days, anyway, so it wasn’t as bad as I was making it. I told her the sign on the mirror in my bathroom says, “every other day” in bold letters. She responded with, “ well, I haven’t been in the rooms, so don’t know what the sign say, but we don’t have housekeeping that often”. YIKES!! A couple of other observations: the toilet paper is super cheap and disintegrates with use and the bedspread is rough and uncomfortable, so I have to remove it to sleep. This property has really gone down hill since my last visit and I am reluctant to stay here on my next trip in July. Such a shame, as the location was good, the rooms are spacious, and it is one of the newer properties.
