Borgo Pantano

Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, lovely pool and surroundings and nice rooms. You will need a car though as its a 10 minute drive from Siracuse.

Just got back after a great week at this hotel. The hotel really made our holiday. Everything was great especially pool which our 6 year old loved and the staff. Special mention to Rosi in the restaurant for looking after us every night!

The Borgo Pantano is a beautiful hotel - lovely grounds and pool, lots of comfortable spots set aside for private conversation, immaculate rooms, but it is the quality of service that sets this hotel apart. Each and every interaction I had with hotel staff, be it the groundskeeper, the room service staff, front desk staff, servers at dinner, or the operating manager, was kind, helpful, and friendly. As an example of the above-and-beyond service that was provided, on one afternoon my wife and I wanted to go visit Euryalus Castle. It's in the opposite direction of downtown, and the price quoted by taxi drivers was very high (although it's not that far from the Borgo Pantano). The manager, surprised at the scale of the quotes coming in, actually made special arrangements to have one of his staff take us out to the castle at no charge.

We arrived here and stayed three nights for part of our exploration of Sicily! We arrived via train, and our previous hotel had already phoned ahead so Borgo had a taxi waiting for us holding a sheet with our name on it. The hotel is a bit out of the way in that you do need a ride in and out of the city, so for us it was 20 euro each way, or Borgo also has a shuttle that runs at specific times that costs 5 euro a person, each way. Other the slight inconvenience of travel, the resort itself is lovely with modern, clean, spacious rooms and large beds, and we loved that there were even bathrobes for us to wear. We were also impressed with the breakfast buffet, which was the largest we'd seen the whole trip, with an assortment of drinks, eggs and bacon, meats, bread, and homemade pastries, and fresh fruit even! We loved it. The pool is very large and was especially uncrowded since we went in late October, but was very clean, and there is plenty of lawn furniture to lounge on during nicer days.There's also a small game room near the lobby which has a foosball table, ping pong table, Wii console, and some games. As my husband and I are very much children at heart, we spent a lot of time in this room as well waiting for dinner. The concierge was more than helpful the entire time, and offered many suggestions when we asked our questions in good English. The onsite restaurant is definitely a good option with a large variety considering the cost to go into the city instead.

Lovely hotel with great staff who were very willing to help and extremely friendly. The hotel is stylish - we had a room on 2 levels which was unusual and fun. The restaurant is lovely too - try the risotto - the lightest I have ever tasted on a light ricotta sauce - just gorgeous. The breakfast is very good too. The pool is just stunning - one of the best anywhere although pretty cold in October! The hotel is a bit out of the way but worth it for the exceptional pool and restaurant.

This was our first experience with driving in Sicily. We were looking for a hotel outside Syracuse to chill out in at night, which also had easy access to the Greek ruins for visits during the day. The only issue we had with the hotel was actually locating it, but mostly that was due to our unfamiliarity with Sicilian roads. Everything else was top notch. We were upgraded to a bigger room. The breakfast, included in our room rate was sumptuous, the wi-fi was good, the pool was stunning and everyone who worked at the hotel was as helpful and friendly as they could be. We ate dinner at the hotel 3 times- excellent each night. It was hard to leave.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful property. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were very good and the pool area is exceptional. Only caution, GPS took a circuitous back-country route getting to the hotel address but eventually brought us there.

Our stay at the hotel Borgo Pantano was amazing. The hotel was beautifully presented. The rooms were of a high standard and the pool was one of the best we have visited, always enough seats for everyone. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was special. The buffet breakfast was delicious, with a great choice for everyone. The owner greeted us (and every guest) every morning and seemed to be genuinely interested in making sure we were ok. The food in the restaurant was nice, but a little pricey; although nice to do on a couple of nights. The staff were more than happy to recommend other places, reasonably priced to eat. We would definitely visit it again.
