Resort Grande Baia

Lovely hotel which was located close to shops/restaurants and ofcourse a walk away from the beach! Room was very big and had a lovely balcony. Breakfast had a great variety and all procedures was followed in line with guidance on wearing face masks. It was a shame not all guests followed the simple instruction and went about their business!

The place is really big and great, lot of options swimming pool, SPA, bars, soccer/volley/tennis fields, beach located close to the hotel is really nice, etc. Place is quiet, a little bit distant from a close city who a rental car could be necessary.

It’s paradise. You feel that you are disconnected from everything yet you are only 10 min away by car from the beautiful town of San Teodoro. Perfect resort to relax with the family.

Very small pool, not so great beach, average animation and entertainment programs, bad food, awkward beach towel policy, and quite expensive given the quality. Pictures on website have nothing to do with reality.

We loved the location but felt we were getting nickle and dimed throughout our stay. For example, they provided a set of beach towels for the week but if the towels got sandy or dirty, they charged 3 Euros each to replace. And they had a ridiculous policy of only two beach lounges per room. We were three adults and one child, which means we only had two chairs. So, most days we ended up leaving the resort to go to a beach where we could rent enough chairs for all of us. They don't realize that this policy is costing them business.

Very enjoyable. Nice staff. Beautiful setting. Breakfast gets a bit boring. Resort activities not for us. Good if you have kids or don’t want to leave the resort. Great stay!

The Grande Baia resort is a beautiful resort but a car is pretty much essential as it is 2km just to the end of the road and then another 6 or so km to the nearest town of San Teodoro where most of the restaurants are and a short drive to the nearest good beaches (Brandinchi and Lu Impostu) but watch out for beach bed and parking charges!!! Hotel does have its own beach and FREE sunbeds which is great. The staff were extremely helpful but the lack of wi-fi in the rooms was a little disappointing but to be fair reception offered us a wi-fi booster if we wanted. We also had to call to get our room cleaned as it was missed in the first 5 days but then cleaned 3 times in the second week so this was probably just an oversight. The outdoor patio was also not really cleaned as there was frequent bird droppings on the seats that meant we didn't really sit out there. That being said -the apartment itself was clean, bathrooms were modern and clean with great showers and overall had everything we needed (although a kettle would have been a nice addition). We only used the restaurant once for breakfast, once in the pizza restaurant and once in the a la carte restaurant. From our experience we felt that food in the a la carte restaurant was expensive, but then to be fair, the whole island is quite expensive. Also watch out for the €5 euro surcharge per person per day that gets added to your bill!!! Overall a lovely place, great attentive staff, but a little out in the sticks.

I like very much what Resort Grande Baia wants to achieve, but they're not there yet! While the infrastructure is excellent, the customer service needs improvement. For instance, we checked in and then we went to the swimming pool, then we found out that we needed to go all the way to reception to get a set of towels. Another example was the fact that the hotel makes you got to reception to book dinner (that's right, not even over the phone), and in our case, once we got to the restaurant chosen at the time scheduled, our reservation wasn't there! It seems that the hotel chose to overcome operational challenges by making customers go over non-sense process generating pain points to customer experience.

Our room was that far from the main reception and pool area that we had to drive! Points to note: 1. The holiday camp gives you a card to use in the grounds. For the pleasure of this they charge you €5 per person per night. Even if you don’t want it or use it! 2. The spa facilities are an extra cost at the holiday camp. €25 per person per day. 3. Our room had no additional pillows, toiletries, glasses or tea making facilities. 4.The room in the holiday camp is adjoining. Paper thin walls. I don’t know how they can get away with what they do. It clearly is not a 4 star. Expedia needs to listen and adapt the advert for this place as it is false!

The first room assigned to us # 822, it was ten blocks from the main resort area, after several discussions with the front desk manager, we were assigned # 720, it was 3 blocks from the main facilities and resort areas. A la Carte Restaurant could use a new more up-dated menu, at present a USA pizzeria has more varied menu, better service and it is a lot cheaper.
