I chose this hotel because it was near the airport, since we were returning our rental car and leaving for US in early morning. It was out of the way, had to pass stacks of cargo compartments. It was nice once we got there. Nice view of the marina. Expensive restaurant. If I had to do it over I would stay near the city center of Genova.
Had a lovely weekend with my sailor husband in this airport marina, not too much going on so wouldn't want to stay much longer than a couple of nights but superb access to the airport and very high standard of hotel. Not many amenities, but beautifully comfy and quiet room despite being on the airport side. And the range of toiletries in the bathroom was second to none! Staff all friendly, spoke English, breakfast nice, some good pizza/pasta restaurants nearby.
I ahd to be close to the marina and this is a great small hotel friendly staff nice location
We stayed for 3 nights after having booked for 1 because we enjoyed the room so much. The downsides were that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday but then it was November. Also a long walk from public transport. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The bed was very Comfortable and breakfast plentiful. Dinner on the Saturday night was excellent value and very well done. Very peaceful at night but that may be different in July and August. We would definitely return to this hotel.
Great location on the Marina once you find it. Room is fabulous. Breakfast is just OK.run on the Marina was wonderful!
We booked here on our bike trip around Europe the main attraction was the free parking for us, as hotels in genoa itself had little parking, it's by the marina and airport so a little way out of genoa, not a problem if you have your own transport, we spent the afternoon in genoa then came back to the marina for the evening , some great places to eat here and a nice relaxed buzz about the place , hotel clean and modern and staff helpful , would stay again
Two days - Aug/Sep 2012. Pleasant marina waterfront hotel if you can find it. Google Maps plots it at the Sheraton site in the midst of the airport, but you need to turn northwest by the Sheraton and then follow Via Pionieri... around to the west, along the waterfront, almost to the end of road, near the runway. The area feels commercial until you get to the hotel. Any airport traffic was not noticeable. Comfortable bed and linens. Roomy modern bath with dressing room. Good buffet breakfast. A few nearby bar/restaurants. Free parking, but don't expect to walk or use public transit to go anywhere. Our pleasant private balcony overlooking the boats was quite close to the boats and not so private when boat-owners were there, but with sweeping views across the marina and city-scape toward the hills. One maintenance issue -- the sliding doors to the balcony lacked an insulating strip where they come together. Our north-facing room was quite breezy in a rain storm with the doors closed. But any negatives are minor. We would highly recommend this hotel if being in town is not a priority.
The hotel was fine, the problem was when it came time to settle the bill, we were charged in Euro's when it should have been Canadian Dollars as per our contract from Hotels.com. At 5:30 in the morning checkout and the flight leaving early we just paid and left.
The hotel is named Marina Place Hotel & Spa. This would indicate that there are spa facilities at the hotel. The only option of any type of spa was an option to upgrade your room to a room which had a seperate hamman spa shower. This was very disappointing as we were looking forward to making use of spa facilities during our stay. Furthermore when enquiring with staff about various information of the surrounding areas and information on transportation to other places of interest, there was a great lack of knowledge of the local and surrounding areas and facilities.
This hotel is near the Genoa airport and a good 15 mins drive to downtown Genoa. We booked a room facing the marina which was great. The rooms were modern and rain shower was awesome. Rates include parking and wifi but the wifi was very slow (hint to upgrade). We also had some cocktails at the restaurant which was fabulous (euro6 each). Overall, excellent value stay in Genoa.
