The Belmont

We stayed one night in this lovely hotel. Very clean, well equipped room with tea and coffee etc, smallish, but acceptable bathroom, although the shower was on the poor side. Lovely quiet room, as requested, overlooking the pool . We did need the fan supplied (Thank you) even with the windows open it was warm. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, included in the price was plentiful and yummy! Comfortable stay.

The bathroom was on the small side, carpet could do with a clean, generally the whole outside needed a little TLC but overall I would stay again.

Not for the disabled. There are 13 steps to the entrance and no lift to the upper rooms. There is no Porterage. There is no room service. There are just two small plastic beakers for other than tea, in your room. Our "sea-view" room had a distant, limited view of the sea through a number of large trees and buildings and the existence of a huge stone edifice opposite known as the Church of St Saviours. The mainly overgrown rear garden and seemingly unused pool, are accessed by a number of overgrown steps.

Linda and Des were extremely friendly and made us very welcome. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was varied and a good selection on the menu. Situated in a quiet location and close to the village.

The location was excellent, as a business traveller the beach was not a consideration! Bed was comfy room amenities were good, even biscuits, nice touch. Breakfast was very good, a great selection!

Managed to find a gem of a hotel in Shanklin. Lovely rooms and lovely breakfast always set us up for the day. Made to feel so welcome by the owners, Des and Linda, and would recommend to anyone.

The steep hill back up to the hotel from the beach may prove difficult for some with walking difficulties but no problem for us.
