Biwako Hanakaido

Loved the premium room with ensuite hot spring bath. Onsen pools were great, indoor and outdoor (which gives a view of the bamboo forest. There are other pools that I didn't manage to check out. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing and breakfast was a delightful Japanese traditional fare.

Got there earlier (checked out from another ryokan) and there was nowhere to go as there's nothing much in the small little onsen town, before check-in time.

El onsen es inmenso, con sauna y el onsen exterior muy agradable y bien ambientado. También tienen piscina fría que se agradece. Los futones más cómodos que hemos probado desde nuestro punto de vista occidental

El desayuno no nos encantó. Para mi gusto te tratan con demasiado respeto, creo que pagas más la cantidad de personal y el hecho de ser un gran edificio que el confort. Luego te cobran por cualquier tontería como tomarte un café en el desayuno

I massaggi, non mi è piaciuta la tecnica di massaggio con l’asciugamano. Secondo me è più piacevole e rilassante sentire le mani piuttosto che uno spesso asciugamano. Comunque niente da togliere all’esperienza dei massaggiatori perché erano bravi.

Amazing stay. Very nice Japanese experience. Personal is extremely professional and committed. Food was amazing. Onsen huge and very clean. Such a beautiful area. Everything was just perfect.

I wish we have stayed longer.

We stayed there for two nights, and it was one of the best hotels we have been to in our life. The hotel is located approximately 20 minutes walk from the Ogotoonsen Train station. However, the hotel provides free shuttle bus service from and to the train station. Just inform them beforehand. The hotel itself is beautiful inside. But the most wonderful are the people working there - everyone, be it check-in staff, kitchen staff or service staff - went above and beyond to provide fantastic, friendly service and comfortable stay for their guests. They readily answered our inquiries and were very kind. For example, they brought us to the Sakamoto the day after our arrival so that we could take the Sakamoto Cable Car to explore the Mount Hie. We booked the Junior Suite with Open-Air Hot Spring Bath. The room is large and gorgeous, with a separate bedroom and living room. The semi-open hot spring bath had a lovely view of Lake Biwa and starry heaven at night. It is also a very quiet location, so the feeling was truly magical while bathing at night. All necessary amenities are provided: Toothbrushes, hair and body products, several yukatas in our size and great tea and coffee. Our room booking also included dining in a private room with a several-course menu. This brings us to the next point: The food. The chef and the other kitchen staff are true artists. The unique kaiseki style meals, be it breakfast or dinner, were always presented elegantly. The fresh and generous meals represented the very best of the best of Japanese Omi region cuisine and were absolutely delicious. Many compliments to the staff! We felt very fresh and recharged after our stay. Thank you very much, lovely Biwako Hanakaido Team! To recommend and to come back.
