"Exceptional"

This ryokan is absolutely beautiful. The entire stay from check in to check out was exceptional. We went as a family with our 4yo and 8mo and they had all the facilities we needed including high chairs (a selection) for the kids as well as a kids menu, toy borrowing service and books. The public baths were beautiful. Make sure to try them all! We had the kaiseki dinner in a private room which was delicious and meant the kids being a little noisy didn't bother anyone. Our room overlooked Lake Biwa and it was very comfortable.

"overall a very enjoyable stay with great dinner"

room, dinner and onsen were all great. staffs are all very helpful and polite. I especially loves a lot the outdoor onsen because the water temperature kept very warm at these cold days. i think in other onsen hotels, the outdoor one has the water temperature a bit lower than the one in indoor, but Hana Biwako does a great job to keep it very well.

we came by 3 persons and would initially want to book a room of 2 and a room of 1. However Hana Biwako does not have the package for 1 person per room. finally i fix this by booking one room with one extra tatami bed. I think this is a bit not flexible enough.

"A good ryokan for holiday"

The location was good, both for private car and public transport (close to train station and it provided shuttle bus services). The staff who served us were warm and welcoming. Our room was clean and neat, slept on tatami and was able to see the lake. Onsen was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast, in Japanese dishes, were excellent. Highly recommended for families and couples who wanted a quiet stay.

None that we could recall.

저희는 신혼여행지로 일본 가을의 교토를 선택했습니다. 처음 일본을 방문하는 만큼 모든 것이 낯설고 설렘 가득한 여정이었는데, 그 시작을 비와코 하나카이도에서 할 수 있었다는 것이 지금도 참 다행이라고 느껴집니다. 이곳에서의 경험은 교토 시내 관광만큼이나, 아니 그보다 더 특별하게 기억되고 있습니다. 일본 여행이 처음이라 무엇을 먹고 어떤 문화를 체험해야 할지 막막했던 저희에게, 비와코 하나카이도에서의 식사는 최고의 선택이었습니다. 정해진 시간에 맞춰 정갈하게 차려지는 음식들은 일본 가정식의 여러 반찬을 다양하게 맛볼 수 있게 해줬습니다. 그 덕분에 저희는 일본의 식문화를 가장 자연스럽게 경험할 수 있었습니다. 또한 다다미 객실에서 머물고, 유카타를 입고 여유롭게 돌아다니며, 온천을 즐기는 시간은 "정말 일본스러운 여행을 하고 있구나" 하는 느낌을 확실하게 만들어 주었습니다. 조용한 분위기와 직원분들의 세심한 배려도 너무나 만족스러워서 다음에는 꼭 부모님을 모시고 다시 오고 싶다는 생각이 절로 들었습니다. 일본을 처음 방문하는 여행객에게, 비와코 하나카이도는 음식, 숙박, 문화체험 모든 면에서 충분한 만족을 주는 곳이라고 자신 있게 말할 수 있습니다. 다음에 또 이곳에 방문할 날을 기대합니다!

숙소 안에 소바 매장을 봤지만 이용을 못해봤습니다. 당시 운영을 하고 있었는지 모르겠지만, 재방문 시 한번 방문해보고 싶습니다.
