Hotel Føroyar

The hotel options in Torshavn are limited. I selected Hotel Foroyar because it seemed to be the premier hotel in the city, and while it may be the best, it was an adequate rather than memorable stay. The location was not what I expected, on a bluff above the town. It’s not walkable to any of the restaurants or sites in Torshavn, but has good city and harbor views and ample parking, and it was easy to get in and out driving around the Islands without navigating the labyrinthine Torshavn streets. So a bit of a mixed bag on location. I got the “family annex room,” not realizing that the annex is in a separate building about 50 yards from the hotel. Not a big deal to use hotel amenities when the weather is nice, but unpleasant on not-unusual windy/rainy/chilly days. I’m not sure what family would stay in this small room, as there was just a queen size bed and a couch. The bathroom was tiny. The view was of a construction site. The minimalist design was stark but typical Scandinavian style. On the plus side, a breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and it was excellent. Eggs, potatoes, salad, cheese, potatoes, pastries, granola/yogurt, fresh fruit and Faroese specialties like rhubarb juice and lamb sausage. I did not get tired of the breakfast even over a 6-night stay. The fitness center is also large and well-equipped. Overall, this hotel certainly worked for my purposes, but it was not a premium experience despite a premium price.

Easily the most luxurious hotel of any on the Faroe Islands. Beautiful rooms and spectacular design. The location, just outside of town, is a blessing because you get incredible views of the ocean and Harbor without the noise and distraction of the city. Highly recommend it!

Fint ophold som ender som standart. Vi boede i side bygningen og det har hotellet et stort problem med kloakering. Det lugtede fælt af kloak på gangen. Opholdet var i den dyre ende, så alt i alt under middel standart, pris taget i betragtning.

Loved our stay! It was super clean with comfortable beds and a good hot shower. It had AMAZING shampoo, body wash and hand soap! Nespresso pods in the room was a nice touch. Beautiful view of the sea. VERY limited TV. One of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had, with lots of international and Faroese options. Nice walk downhill into town which helped to find nice places to eat and then you burn it all off walking back up. The views alone are worth it.

The reason for my 3-star rating is due to inconsistent staff and very dated rooms. I personally found the afternoon/evening front desk staff to be super helpful and caring (especially the lovely, utmost gracious lady who checked me in), whilst the early morning staff seemed to be doing the bare minimum and couldn't be bothered to follow-up on issues. For an average of about $200 USD a night, the rooms are small and extremely dated. On the positive side, the food at the hotel is phenomenal! I tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner at different venues and they were all fantastic; even room service breakfast is the best I have ever had even compared to ultra 5-star luxury hotels in Dubai. Bravo to the Head of F&B! Overall, the hotel has incredible potential.

Excellent hotel with very good breakfest. Close to restaurants and conveniently located.

Consstruktion work was autside our room. And woke up of the noise off the consstruktion work. Other wise was the staying great.

Fantastisk hotel. Både service, kvalitet og lokation er helt i top. Morgenmaden er outstanding og uden sidestykke.

Dejligt hotel. Vi havde booket et standard værelse med havudsigt. Der er dog en byggeplads foran østfløjen af hotellet, så havudsigten var ret begrænset. Dog ingen støj over påsken, men lidt varm den sidste dag som var en almindelig arbejdsdag Sengen og puderne er behagelige. Det er godt at der er et side areal i værelset. Stille og roligt hotel i meget flotte omgivelser. Vi er glade for at vi bookede uden for byen i stedet for i byen.
