Wonderful location.

excellent location; very close to all popular sites. Front desk is nice and helpful. Room is clean. The building is quite old. It is hard to lock the door of the hotel room. 6 Blow dryers are shared for all the rooms (19?), which is quite a surprise to us.

Room condition was different from photos. The shower was broken.

Walls are paper thin. Some guy in the building would constantly talk loudly all night long (he’d just ramble constantly without pause). He’d wake us up at about 2am and talk to himself or on the phone until 6am. Think we got an avg of 3 hours of sleep each night. The stripper club solicitors stand in front of the entrance. The only, and I mean only bright spot of the hostal was the front desk guy. He was pretty great.

The property is dated and very noisy at night.. also very poor air conditioner and not so clean

I liked the location. I didn't like that I had a problem with the door, but they never came to fix it or to ask if it was fixed or if the issued continued.

Very easy to walk to everything. Grocery store nearby. Relatively quiet for being in the City Center.

Very friendly multilingual staff. Very flexible with check in; if rooms are clean they will let you check in early, and you can drop off luggage if rooms aren't ready yet. Only challenge was figuring out how to actually get inside the building! Would be helpful for them to post entry instructions. The entrance is the big wooden double doors on the front side of the building, but you must get buzzed in the first time you enter, after which you receive a key. If the front desk staff aren't right at the desk it can be difficult to get in initially. Clean rooms, somewhat tight but equipped as advertised. Very noisy on the street at night, as you would expect — a great location to be in if you want to enjoy the culture and sights of Madrid late into the evening. Blackout curtains don't block the noise but do fully block the light so it's easy to sleep in the morning. Overall a great stay!
