Sunset Gardens Guesthouse

View was a plus. Property is old but met our needs for one night stay.

Orbitz has wrong address and telephone numbers. Both telephone and fax lines are no longer in service. The street number is now 8305.

The sweet lady at the front desk "Deb" is awesome! Super nice, very helpful. If you stay at Sunset Gardens. You will need a car! If you don't have a Vehicle you will pay $10 per person just to get down the hill. There is Nothing close to the guest house, Stores, Restaurants, beaches, are all down the hill. You can NOT walk up and down the hill. There is no sidewalks, so its very dangerous. The rooms do have a Full Kitchen, with dishes, pots, pans, flatware. There is a Gas Grill by the pool that you may use.

Sunset gardens is in a beautiful setting nested into a mountain, but not near anything. Difficult to go shopping or go out to eat. Staff is very attentive

Sunset Gardens is struggling back from the hurricane and looks worn. Though the pool area and plantings showed some care, the furniture and general maintenance was quite poor. The view overlooking the harbor is spectacular, but the immediate neighborhood is rundown and far from any restaurants or services. The desk manager was very helpful in working to get the TV operational and in ordering a cab. We would not, however, return to this hotel.

If it wasn't for the staff, we would have tried to find another place. There was no signs or address posted for this property. We drove the entire mountain trying to find it. We had to pay a local to take us to the property (thank god he knew the place). Our check-in should have been at 3 p.m., instead it was 5:45 p.m. and whole lot of wasted gas. The room was dark, dingy, not very clean, nor organized. Dead cockroach on the floor!! No TV in the bedroom, kitchen was not adequately supplied with silverware, pots and pans. Over the top disappointment in this place. They really need to get all repairs finished and the place completely cleaned up before renting this dump.

I stayed 2 nights, and I thought it was great. Amazing view, and great people. It has a tiny kitchenette which was perfect because I really just stayed on the balcony soaking up the scenery and never had to leave for anything.
