Excellent location. Very close to airport, shuttle was on time. Room was clean, shower was hot, bed was comfortable. Close to restaurants. Walk to parks and other shops was convenient.

I thought the rate pricy for my room - it was small - TV all but impossible to work - never could get the coffee maker to work either - the hotel shuttle to the airport worked fine - the hotel has a great, friendly Italian restaurant attached to it - my room had a small kitchenette which I did not use - it would be worth the price if you want to cook your own meals - hotel convenient to tourist areas

At a time when the entire city of Sitka lost telecommunications, the manager went above and beyond to get us checked in early.

Everything about this property exceeded my expectations! Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, and a great location. We did not need to drive anywhere as we could walk or catch the bus anywhere we wanted to go.

This is a lovely property. Our stay had a few hiccups. Our room wasn’t ready by check-in. Several rooms were not, so there were many people in the lobby waiting. Our room also seemed to be above a club or restaurant that played very loud music late into the night. (We had a 6 am flight the next day.) Finally the shuttle to the airport had a few issues with the driver and our hotel staff actually getting into a yelling match.

This hotel met all my basic needs. I would stay here again. Not fancy but staff is friendly and helpful.

I’ve stayed at the Sitka hotel before but things have changed in two years: the staff aren’t welcoming, the place feels like it could do with a deep clean and on arrival, not only was my bed badly made but my coffee etc hadn’t been replenished. When I asked the man at reception desk for more (the man who queried the validity of my overseas passport!), it took him some effort to go and get some. The next day, I hoped my room would be restocked as I spoke to several people, only to find out later that housekeeping had gone home a d I should have requested for my room to be done. So I remade my bed while the charmless one went off insearch for coffee. On the plus side, there’s a free transfer from the airport and the driver was helpful. The hotel location is excellent for walking around Sitka. The restaurant Mangiare’s, on the premises was good. Overall, for the hefty price the Sitka Hotel are charging they need to up their game on delivering service to visitors instead of being made tofeel they are cutting corners (like now charging for basic breakfast items instead of it being included in the package as it used to).

Alaskan mountain lodge vibe ( wood everywhere, bear skin rugs, deer antler lamps ), only a mile, and a half from the airport, right in the downtown area with loads of shops, and restaurants, and a bar next door that really starts popping off when the sun goes down, just a few hundred yards from the main tour boat dock, and they have a cute, super nice Irish Sheepdog who works the front desk. The only way this place could be more Alaska is if they shuttled you to the airport on the backs of Black Bears. Great place.
