Very central location. Comfortable beds. Amazing decor

The continental breakfast is very limited compared to other 5 stars such as the Taj. Service could be better. Ate at the main restaurant for dinner. Very tasty buy once again service poor Breakfast from the main menu is tasty.

The colonial decoration in the hotel and comfy bed and lounge area. Indoor/outdoor seating in the restaurant . Excellent cappuccino coffee and breakfast.

Slow breakfast service and lack of sugar, salt and pepper on the table. Broken empty plant pots at front of hotel needed clearing away. Rose plants on edge of pool need planting in pots. No staff around in the bar and lounge in the evening. Waterhammer from nextdoor room in the morning - noise was horrendous but having reported it it was much improved! ⁹

They had contractors drilling until after 17h00 on a Saturday afternoon. TV small (did not bother us at all)

This hotel is located in beautiful hout bay which is accessible from either Chapman's Peak or the beautiful consantia Nek. It is centrally situated to Hout Bay Town and the World of Birds and the beach . Breakfast is very good but their continental is very limited . Rooms are very spacious and beds comfy. However an extra chair to sit and watch TV would be appreciated I layed on the bed and hubby took the chair . The restaurant has Asian food at a good price and very tasty . However this hotel fails with the service. Understaffed and not trained to the standard of a 5 star beautiful decor.

What a disappointment, from start to finish. We'd made a booking about a week ago, yet they didn't even have the table ready when we arrived (we had to help them move tables together). We then had to ask for more menus to be bought to us. There were 3 menus to share between a table of 7. We waited more than 20 minutes for our drinks to come (which were brought in 3 separate servings). Note, they were not busy at all, and we were told their staff was only coming in at 1pm. Their lunch is served from 12 noon, so this staff scheduling seems odd. When the draught beers arrived, they were deemed "off" with a horrible aftertaste, so my companions sent them back to exchange for bottled beers. Another drink order was incorrect, and we had to remind them to bring the replacement. The staff were pleasant enough, but untrained...it was clear our table was unhappy with the long delays, the off beers etc but there was no explanations or apologies about the situation. We had an overseas guest so didn't want to make too much of a fuss. But it did not appear there was even a manager on duty. The food itself was lucklustre. Not sure how you can get a pad Thai wrong, but they managed to. Only 3 out of 7 meals were enjoyed - the vegetarian wrap, the red curry, and the fishcake. Overall, a most-disappointing experience. I'm usually extremely forgiving of service slip-ups, but this was just bad from the word go. I emailed them directly that afternoon, and as of 4 days later. I've had no response.

The service was outstanding the food very poor. The restaurant has a Thai menu as well as a European style menu. However we saw the staff bringing in my partners food from a takeaway and though I ordered the Thai Chicken salad I was given an ordinary salad. When I explained to the waitress that there was a mistake she said that they must have given me the wrong salad dressing!! I didn’t have the heart to show her the menu which clearly indicated a very different set of ingredients to those on my plate, It was clear I had been given the griddled chicken salad instead, but this shows that that staff do not know Thai food. I would recommend they remove the Thai menu until they get a Thai food qualified chef again.

Most disgusting rude incompetent staff and management, incompetent manager ignored my complaint , she was clearly not able to fulfill a management role, the worst service ever and way over priced, do your self a favor and stay away there are so many places that are friendly and have well trained staff not staff that are doing you a favor serving you !

Very clean and well maintained. Staff are cheerful and happy to help
