Cape Dutch elegance combined with comfort and good service. Extensive restaurant menu, good wine cellar, and breakfasts cooked to order. Outdoor pool unheated - Brr! No lift to upper floors. Sun and shade in garden. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Property was located in a good location.

Checked in and was told ‘this isn’t a very good room’ & was tried to be upsold an upgrade We booked a luxury room on booking.com was told that it was a standard room we were given Pictures online show different room than what was given (e.g no balcony, single sink not two, different bedroom, different bathroom) Hairdryer exploded whilst used Shower aggressively leaked soaking all items in bathroom Hair found in bedding Room run down which isn’t shown on pictures Complained to receptionist, was told that she couldn’t remedy it but manager would when in at 10am, we waited from 8.30am - 10.30am when we thereafter approached front desk to be told manager had called in sick (they didn’t bother letting us know despite us waiting to hear back). Only offered change of room but due to issues above (including safety issues) we decided to check out & seek refund for days not stayed. Checked out & was told a refund would be sorted on management return. Now been told wouldn’t be refunded for the days we didn’t stay there as we had a late cancellation which is not factually correct. Management had no intention to refund by sounds of things and did not investigate properly the concerns we had. Raising matter with our bank as we feel property has been misadvertised to us & service not as expected. I’d absolutely avoid.

no water for too long when we arrived so could not wash! not really told about it or any alternative accommodation offered as we had just got off a 12 hour flight!

The hotel is beautiful and very close to town. The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. I travelled with my son and his family which included my 1.5yr old grandson, the hotel was very accommodating to our needs and even kept the Chef on later than usual to allow my Daughter-in-law to put her son to bed. Our bedrooms were delightful in decor and the whole hotel and a homely warm to it. We had to leave early for our flight which meant missing breakfast, they kindly put breakfast bags together for us which were really good and full of choice.

Unfortunately the bathrooms were not great, the taps were very difficult to use as was the shower - in my room it had been installed at an angel so you could not run the shower before getting in. The plumbing in my son's room (sink and shower) were extremely loud, which meant they had to use my room whilst the baby was asleep. We did only stay for 1 night so I am unable to say if the bathroom situation would have been fixed if we were staying for a longer period of time. The other downfall of the hotel is the amenities close very early at 10pm so if you are travelling and arrive late, both restaurant and bar are closed

Comfortable outside and lounge sitting areas. Rooms spacious. Food very good. Staff good although a little slow at times.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Hout Bay Manor. Gorgeous house, with beautifully decorated, spacious room. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and fresh. The beds are really comfortable, and amenities with everything you need. Would definitely go back.

Nothing really. Loved everything about Hout Bay Manor. Note that it is a bit far from the central area of Cape Town, so a car is recommended.

This is our third stay at Hout Bay and once again enjoyed it. The rooms are large and well appointed and the bed is comfy. We love the ambience of the hotel and the staff are always welcoming. It is our “go to” place to stay when in Cape Town area. We would highly recommend. Thank you Hout Bay Manor.
