JW Marriott Chicago

Had an excellent stay at the JW Marriott Chicago! As a Lifetime Titanium member, I was upgraded to a stunning suite - spacious, elegant, and very comfortable. The service throughout was top-notch. I especially appreciated the pre-arrival outreach and thoughtful service from Derek, the Guest Service Manager. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth, and it really set the tone for a great stay. It was also easy to communicate with the hotel through the Marriott Bonvoy app - any requests or questions were quickly handled, which made everything even more convenient. One thing to note: there’s a daily resort fee, but it includes a credit that can be used at the bar or for room service. Highly recommend this property for its comfort and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be back!

The location is great. The hotel is old and needs updating. I could hear my neighbors and anyone in the hall. The bed was old and really uncomfortable. Not worth the money spent

The additional 30 fee. For that breakfast should be included, at least a simple one

This is a very nice luxury hotel. They do however charge your card for incidentals and $30 for you to spend only $15 of that in their dining room or lounge. I didn’t like that being mandatory.

Pleasant experience overall

My son was recently married in downtown Chicago. We stayed at this hotel during the weekend. The bride had a suite that was used as a "getting ready" spot for the bridal party - it was perfect! There were two bathrooms and a large living room - all with excellent natural light. It accommodated three stations for hair and makeup artists to come in and style our group. My son had a similar setup for the men in a suite on a separate floor. There is also a Drybar right across the street from the hotel in case you need a blowout. The hotel is centrally located in the loop and is convenient to State Street shopping, a short walk to Grant Park, The Art Institute and North Michigan Avenue shopping and restaurants. Our room was lovely as well - roomy with a beautiful bathroom and comfy beds. The staff was excellent. The room service lunch and breakfast were delicious. The other wedding guests that stayed here had similar positive comments - I highly recommend this hotel.

A great property to stay at when you are in Chicago. Walking distance from everything. Will definitely come back.

I stayed at the JW Marriott Chicago for three nights in July with my husband and kids. Our stay was fantastic and we would absolutely choose this property for future trips to Chicago. 1) Malcolm checked us in late Saturday night. Check in was seamless. Our room was on the 12th floor (executive floor). 2) The room was standard but very nice and clean. The deep soaking tub separate from the shower was a treat. Housekeeping came daily- no issues with room cleanliness. 3) There is a gym and spa on the lower level. The gym was INCREDIBLE! It is accessible 24 hours a day. If you enjoy working out when you travel like I do, this property is for you. Two peloton bikes, several treadmills, heavy dumbbells, smith machine, an extra yoga/stretching studio, I could go on. If you are traveling for work this is a property to bring your partner along because they will have a fantastic time- between the gym and spa and lounge. It’s great. There is also a pool and hot tub connected to the gym. We didn’t bring suits but we will next time for the hot tub. You can pay a fee for a day pass to access the spa amenities if you aren’t getting a spa service. 4) The concierge lounge for elite level Marriott folks was another area where this property shines. At a time when lounges are closing and the offerings are meh, this stood out. It was open for breakfast every day. The breakfast options varied but there’s something for everyone - fresh fruit, overnight oats with chia seeds, omelettes with zucchini and feta, etc. The evening appetizers were also great- mini Caesar salads and short ribs, empanadas, etc. My kids loved the dessert offerings. The staff in the lounge were always friendly and helpful. It was never too crowded. 5) Room service was also delicious and easy. They have extended hours and ordering on the app was a breeze. 7) The hotel location was also a plus. You’re right in the middle of the city. We walked a lot and took the metro to the clubs game. The management is doing an exceptional job at this property. I’m looking forward to returning.
