JW Marriott Chicago

I’ve stayed at a fair few hotels, but the JW Chicago is truly a beaut, bud. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with that big-city polish yet the kind of warmth that makes you feel right at home. The rooms? Spotless, roomy, and comfy enough to crash after a long day of exploring—slept like a log, eh. The lobby bar is a real gem—perfect spot to grab a pint before heading out, or to wind down after. The staff were absolute gems too—friendly, helpful, and quick to lend a hand, just like good neighbours back home. Location couldn’t be better, right smack downtown, so you’re steps away from the river, the shops, and all the sights. Didn’t even need to hoof it too far for a proper deep dish. Only thing I’ll say is bring your stretchy pants—between the hotel dining and Chicago eats, you’ll be full as a tick. But hey, that’s half the fun. All in all, a fantastic stay. Would I come back? You betcha.

Only thing I didn't care for, was the bed. It was pretty firm! My back killed me for days! But Im also used to a really soft bed at home, so I am pretty particular.

Check in was quick and staff was very engaging and polite. It was our 30th Anniversary and they brought chocolate covered strawberries, macaroons and a bottle of wine in our room. Room was clean and spacious. We appreciated the hospitality.

Really enjoyed my short stay (first time). Yes, it's a bit “classic”, convention-feeling, and has that older large scale Marriott feel (in a good way) of days gone by. Everything was nicely updated throughout, from the lobby to the rooms to the spa. The Exec Lounge was staffed by lovely team members and offered a very nice breakfast with evening nibbles and self-serve snacks & soft beverages throughout the day. Again, a lounge with a feel of days gone by, but in nothing but a good way and I felt comfortable. The location was excellent for my purposes and very close to Union Station (a 4 minute easy walk). I would not hesitate to return, and will do so in a few months.

Outstanding staff across every position. Inviting smiles, eager to help, fast resolutions.

Not great location. Very old property. Exec lounge is small and old- but later moved to Marriott Michigan ave. Lot newer,great location. Restaurant closed too….

There was an outstanding bartender named Martin who does great service for us long time Marriott patrons. The lounge off Adam’s Street is convenient and comfortable. I always stop by when I travel downtown.

Comfy bed, very clean, easy transportation, great area.
